Walmart has a lot of reviews on these and they are quite mixed -- basically it's a LED projection and not a laser. So you need to position them quite close to the house (e.g. 10 feet).

Walmart also sells more colors of the Gemmy at approx $7 but not in a two pack so the HD deal is still very good if LED is what you need.

Nice price for a two pack, I have some of these that I used for halloween and Christmas last year and I really like the effect they give.

Bought these last year. Not even remotely close to the Star shower ones that run around $30. Save your money.

what's this thing called in general so I can set up alerts for better ones.

hmm so not good and mixed reviews, I just want to use it on my house so neighbor's camera motion record can't get me. I wonder if this will work. 7 bucks worth a shot I guess.
can you change the speed of the thing?
