My sewer line backed up, we we're upstairs all day and kept putting water into our basement, it was a nightmare to fix it. I am not risking it anymore.

Thanks, I went for the slight more expensive, but still good deal $101.95 package which comes with a single leak sensor (free shipping):
https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/...ention-kit

Thanks for posting, this is something I've had my eye on for a while. I'm terrified of the water line feeding our refrigerator ever leaking, especially if we're not home. This should buy some peace of mind.

Regards,
Pol

These also can work in an old house hot water rad system to control heating zones around the house.

That water sensors is pretty expensive.. the Xiaomi ones are discounted for around $15 periodically.

Xiomi is Zigbee, not Z-wave. Major difference for folks that have strong Z-Wave mesh already.

My shutoff valve is on the exterior of the house (1930s vintage house, SoCal). Is this valve intended for interior use?

EDIT: specs say indoor installation only. Bummer. Can anyone recommend an outdoor compatible version? Or maybe I put custom cut an electrical enclosure around it.
