"Item condition:Manufacturer refurbished". Which is why I have yet to buy from them for the $1,999.99 price.

I can't believe this didn't go on sale anywhere online yesterday. Paying $100 less for a refurb that you can't price protect seems like a fool's game.

1. I'm not interested in the price protection scam.

2. On the previous refurb deal people were getting new units. It's unlikely that Beach Camera/Buydig suddenly got in a big delivery of refurbed units.

Mine had the year lg warranty, and a cps warranty for 1yr was shipped separately. The cps warranty appears to run concurrent to the lg one though. Meaning 1yr total unfortunately. Tv looked brand new and has a build date of September.

Does your invoice say it is a refurb?

Maybe better to buy these refurb units since theyve been fixed?? Ive Read a lot of complaints regarding this tv crapping out after only several months of ownership.

1. Not sure why you wouldn't be interested. It takes literally 5 seconds to file one through Citi.

2. Even if not interested, you're only paying $100 more for a brand new unit. That's a 5% difference in price. Who knows what people did to the unit before you did? You can never be sure you're getting a "new" unit even if you bought refurbed.

Also, Citi offers a free 2 year extra warranty on top of your 1 year if you bought the TV new. The warranty is also additive if you've purchased an extended warranty from sites like Squaretrade.

So, $100 more for a new unit, plus an extra 2 year warranty on top of your 1 year from LG, making it 3 years warranty. It's really a no brainer here.

Yeah. Real scam. I got mine from beach camera for 2099, pp'd with citi to another site that was 1499 and got 500 back within 1 week

You're scamming Citi because you know the price you are matching is not legit.
Citi doesn't say the dealer has be an authorized dealer, nor that the site has to be legit. It just states if you've found a lower price online, submit a price match request. A scam is if you've illegally and intentionally tried to defraud someone knowing that what you did was illegal. It's not up to you to verify that the store is legit; it is Citi's responsibility. For all you know, that site that sold it for very cheap is legit. What you're doing isn't illegal, while it could be morally unethical if you're absolutely certain it was a scam site, (which nobody is really going to test out.)

How is this a scam? I believe the better word is "resourceful."

It is only a matter of time before companies start changing policies because of this, but until then, I would take advantage of this while you can.

It does not make sense buying this refurbished at this price even though they are shipping new units. You will not get manufacturer warranty or be able to get a replacement for a new unit. You can't do price protection with your credit card company. There is no difference in price between refurbished and new if do a proper research, Fry's just had this for $1999 in stores and is going on.
