As Some have stated below there are several Ryobi 8 tool kits at $200 that may be better for your needs.

Seems to be the same as the 8 tool combo except it doesn't include the impact driver. Probably a better deal to pay the extra $20 and get the 8 tool set if this is what you're looking for.

There was a post [homedepot.com] a day ago for $20 off ($80) the two pack of 4.0 ah ones. I was lucky to get them for $60 this summer. One guy got them for $25 a couple of years ago. I have never got that lucky. Hope the current offer helps.

An oddball kit that looks like Ryobi's perennially low end P883 kit (drill, circ saw, recip saw, worklight, 2 compact batteries, currently $119 [homedepot.com]) bundled with $10 drill/driver bit set and a bunch of $20-30 tools (sander, glue gun, vacuum) that one may or may not need. At least Ryobi finally did away with the incandescent work light and bundled an LED one.

I agree with mattskent that the 8-tool combo kit with the impact driver is worth the extra $20.

Or for a combo kit that's more "work" than home/craft, consider the $200 mid range P884 [homedepot.com] 6-tool kit that's more powerful, ergonomic and usable: a way more compact and balanced drill with LED light, impact with tri-LED light, recip saw with vibration dampening handle, circ saw with laser line, a JobPlus base with oscillating/multi-tool attachment, batteries with a bit more capacity and a faster charger.

Eh, I hit thumbs up, but after looking a bit closer this is kind of a random assortment low-price tools and the older (non +) lithium batteries. It's probably an okay deal if you want those specific tools. At least they included an LED light with this one. The older non-LED one is worse than useless.

How does Ryobi compare to Milwaukee, in terms quality, build and performance?

Maine , they were on clearance for 50 bucks but ryobi had a deal where if you bought a kit you got a free tool and returning whatever the other tool was brought them down to 35.

Well I own black and decker , dewalt xr's , m18 fuels and ryobi.

I'm selling off the dewalt and black and decker stuff to keep the ryobi and Milwaukee tools.

Ryobi is very good stuff and have a vast array of different tools. But you can feel the quality difference between the 2 but of course the Milwaukee tools cost twice as much.

My opinion is pretty much in line with the guy above
....they are good for the money and fine for the diy er or homeowner but if it were my livelyhood I would get something better.

I'd love to be able to drop money on Milwaukee or Makita. But I gotta say that my Ryobi impact driver and my drill are so good because they're not only tough, but I don't baby them like I might some more expensive tools. I beat on them and use them hard because I'm not worried about messing them up.

I didn't think I was going to be as impressed as I have been with these Ryobi cordless tools. I'm probably going to stick with the brand for a really long time.
