it is mini, not axon 7. So I believe it's a normal sales price

18% off is at $133 so while this is a bit lower, don't think it's a PM.

im confused.
this is by far the cheapest ive ever seen this phone. the previous frontpage deals were $160 and $175 (-$25 card)

zte usually sells the axon 7 mini for $299, and they have it on sale right now for $199

Bought this last year at $199.99. Honestly I hope you can do better, because I'm looking for another device. I don't install much but there are random multi-second freezes, UI is not very responsive, but maybe this is an Android thing and I should shell out for an iPhone.

The hardware however is decent, I do like the screen and speakers, and it doesn't feel cheaply made

It shows $132.99 not $120.

It's not an Android thing, necessarily. In this case, I can confidently tell you it's a ZTE thing. Those things you mentioned only ever happened when I had a ZTE.

If you decide to stick with Android, try to choose a device that uses as close to stock Android as possible. I've gone from a Nexus 4 to Note 4 to Galaxy S7 to Nextbit Robin. The Samsung phones get sluggish after awhile, but the other two were nice and snappy in comparison.

Is there one that fits that criteria in a budget in the range of $400? IME most seem to have moved to the excessive $700+ range, and I'm not willing to shell that out when in 2 years it will be trash. An iPhone at least holds its value better than most and I could recoup a couple hundred bucks on it

I had an LG Nexus 5 and it was one of the better androids I have owned, but overall the ecosystem seems to be in a sorry state.

$120 would have been a great deal, $133 is still good. Pros include good audio DAC with Dolby ATMOS and dual front speakers, micro sd card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB C with QC, T-Mobile band 12 VoLTE functionality and Wifi calling. Cons include mediocre camera and Qualcom 617 (but again this isn't supposed to be a flagship device).

Gearbest wouldn't be a vendor I'd be interested in buying from, however.
