It shows that online for some reason but in-store is 2.99. I picked one up Wednesday, I had thought about buying it at $10 for my backup phone (this should work with ALL the "tracfone" family of companies, and possibly even with others (using puppywireless myself, with a 3g phone like this you can get the $80 for a year plan, 1.5 cents per minute, per text, and per megabyte of data, I haven't tested it on puppywireless yet though).

Great deal but YMMV if you can find one in stock.

Where can you find $80 a year plan with 5333 minutes? Cheapest I could fine was $100 for 180 days with 1500 minutes. That's way expensive. I used Net 10 for years until their prices skyrocketed.

pick "new service"
pick "I'm a new customer"
enter your zip code (nothing else needed), click "next"
pick "CDMA-Red 3G/4G" (it is already preselected for me)
"$80 Yearly 3G ONLY : $.015/MIN $.015/SMS, $.015/MB" - this is the plan, and should work with this phone, at a later step it lets you enter the MEID and it will check it to make sure it works... YMMV but it worked for me with a straight talk phone... net10 is the same parent company... I did have the phone on pageplus for a little while first but was on pageplus for a very short time before jumping to puppy wireless. Pageplus has the same parent company as tracfone, net10, straight talk... I will try to transfer my service over to this phone to see if it works without having to do pageplus first... but I don't believe it is "locked" since it is 3G.

Good news, I successfully moved my service over to this new net10 phone using the esn update / change function on puppywireless when logged in to my account. After doing over the air programming *22890 and restarting, I was able to complete an outgoing call and then an incoming call. Sigging in to my google account got me my contacts. I didn't bother transferring anything else like call history or apps since it is a backup phone. Now I just have to transfer my account back to my LG straight talk phone...

Now that's a slickdeal @sledhed. 5333 minutes is plenty - even more than I careto talk in a year. Unfortunately, at my local staples the phone was only marked down to 49.99. They just laughed at me when I mentioned $2.99.

It also show the importance of web design. The page looks slick and has all the modern modern features that all the programmers copy and paste, but the "grab" is hidden where you can't see it. Instead of having "Plans" on the menu on top, they hide it in a slideshow. I had been to their website before, but had no idea what they were selling.

I grabbed the last two at my store. The cashier and the manager thought it was a mistake and rang the item up 10 different ways. In the end I walked out of the store with two phones for 6 bucks and some change. Awesome deal!

Three more phone deals showed up yesterday in my local staples - tracfone LG440 flip phone for 2.99, LG Lucky L16C smartphones in both Tracfone and Net10 variants for $4.99.

Edit: pics added
