It's different.
Casein is a slow digesting protein - typically taken at nighttime.
Whey is a "regular" protein taken as needed - pre-workout, post-workout, pretty much any time you need that extra protein.

Their Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor is pretty good, especially if you go light on the water mixture.

Casein mixes a lot differently than whey and the least liquid you can get away with makes it taste better.

Good deal IMO - Casein is a little tougher to mix up than their whey, best taken at night before bed.

Casein: Assuming the 'casein absorbs slowly/over hours vs whey' stuff is true, casein is definitely a different beast texture-wise.

At least, from my experience, which admittedly only is 1 brand of casein. I'm a huge fan of casein. Not only is it thicker, but it really is more filling. Whey isn't super thin like you're drinking just water, but when you compare it to casein then whey feels like water in terms of how easy it is to down and how filling it feels. Casein is amazing.

Not sure how ON casein is. Only kind I've had is a muscletech "platinum" casein, which is supposed to be of higher quality than the intermediate/general brands (ON, musclepharm, myoprotein etc), but never researched yet if all other brands/types indeed suck or not.

Another guy said the less water you use the better casein tastes. If by "better" he means stronger taste, true. But the same goes for whey too so idk the point of saying that for casein. What is true/unique to casein however, is casein NEEDS MORE LIQUID TO MIX THAN WHEY (e.g. iirc ON whey suggests 4-8oz liquid per scoop of whey, mt's casein which I figure is the same for all casein says 6-10oz liquid per scoop).

btw google "priceplow" for fitness stuff deals, exclusively a deals website like SD is for anything/everything, but priceplow is exclusively for fitness stuff

It's not the lowest price ever, but lowest in a year or so.

To me chocolate peanut butter flavor is a bit too sweet, but some of my friends actually prefer it - it's a matter of taste.
I personally like vanilla flavor - it costs just a few cents more.

The human body rests at night and does body maintenance. I don't think I want to eat a slow digestive casein that my stomach would be churning all night. Not healthy

does this item have to be the last item for 4/5 items to get 15%? or do all 5 items get 15% when they are shipped, so you just have to have 5 x S/S items by the time it ships?

You just need 5 items by the time it ships. Once you add your 5th item is will recalculate all the individual totals.

------------

I also wanted to chime in on the flavor. Normally I'm a big fan of ON's flavors but I found this one way too sweet and had to choke it down each time. I normally like chocolate peanut butter but it just tasted extremely artificial.

What is your reccomendation? There are so many there, i've seen in comments here that double chocolate, coffee, frap.chap., are alright, but i haven't heard much so far. About to put in an order for a 5lb tub or two with some casein .

Edit: i meant as far as the whey goes. not much choice with this one.

My current favorite is coffee.
Had so much double chocolate, can't look at it anymore.
