I would go with the best buy deal at the same price because the smart plug is the mini. The one from Amazon blocks the other outlet for the most part.

Got my dot last night, it is pretty cool, Alexa will play songs, give me recipies... Plus it works across my house, very sensitive... Debating getting another one

Adding a $35 external speaker to this dot would be about $10 cheaper for 3 items vs the full-size echo plus plug deal.

There would also be the benefit of making the dot a portable Bluetooth speaker.

I stand corrected. The button is for cutting it own and off.

There is most definitely a manual power button. It is located on the wifi/power indicator light.

Source: Own 6 of these.
