I'm hoping to integrate the Smart Lock Pro with Smartthings so I don't have to buy the August Connect bridge, which is selling for $59.61 on Amazon. Buying them separately is still cheaper than August's Black Friday special of bundling the Pro with Connect for $249.99 ($30 off).

Edit: Based on this thread [smartthings.com], it looks like basic lock/unlock features are working in SmartThings and developers are actively working on getting DoorSense (sensor for door open or closed) to work properly. That's all the functionality that I need right now.

That's 2nd generation. 3rd wasn't available until last month.

Thank you for the information! Do you happen to know if one can setup codes/timeframes of allowing access to individuals such as for pet care, or cleaning service via SmartThings.

So this installs over an existing lock I presume. Can anyone comment on the power of the motor? Like if my deadbolt is a tight turn will this be strong enough to fully engaged it?

I think this is all done through the August app. SmartThings is just allowing remote access and control, which is all the Connect bridge really does.

From the thread I posted earlier:
"For guests, you give them an invite, and they have to download the app and create an account (email, sms and photo validation!) and then you can give them one time or temporary or recurring access. It records when someone locks or unlocks, but won't update that record until you're within BT range of the phone if you don't install the connect. it's a bit janky in the app if they don't complete the registration (my house cleaner had too old an android phone and I couldn't tell from my app if she had completed registration or not…) but then it seems to work flawlessly."

Correct. Reviews say that the 3rd generation motors are stronger. I accidentally installed the regular 3rd gen Smart Lock without Z-Wave and the motor closes my deadbolt effortlessly but YMMV.

It says it works with HomeKit. If I have an iPhone and want to unlock my door remotely do I still need to buy a hub?

You don't have to have a hub for Homekit. If you want it to work remotely you just have to have an Apple TV 4th gen or up. Just got one yesterday, it works great and their customer support is awesome!

For the 2nd gen, If you run an Apple TV (turn off the "sleep" mode) or a spare ipad/iphone, it'll work with HomeKit over bluetooth, no need of anything else.

This does not have the hub. I almost purchased this thinking it was a great deal. If you can get BB&B to take a 20% in-store you can get it for $199 with the hub.
