Backordered already, before it even goes FAR?

My experience from last year with the same deal haunts me to this day. The headset ended up shipping about three weeks after the rebate submission deadline. Naturally, I had contacted Fry's customer service about canceling the order when it became clear the deadline would be missed. Over the course of a monthslong process, Fry's encouraged me not to cancel and then, expired deadline be damned, to submit the rebate materials to Asus anyway -- twice. Not surprisingly, Asus rejected the claim every time. I am still waiting for Fry's to make me whole as promised.

I would file a dispute with my CC. Don't have time to deal with this Frys BS.

It was too late for such a dispute by the time I realized that Fry's guidance for securing the rebate despite the expired deadline had no chance of success. With hindsight, I made the mistake of assuming they were genuinely trying to help.

Frys is pretty trashy. The site litterally is trashy. The schemes r trashy.
Makes me wonder how many rebates i didnt get from them.

In store pickup is still available for many stores if you happen to have a store around you. I went for in store pickup just to be sure.

the solution [4myrebate.com] was posted last time out also. a call to the rebate center would've resolved it

Thanks. That appears to be the reason Fry's asked me to mail in the materials a second time; to include their updated order confirmation which, by then, stated the actual ship date. Got declined again regardless.

This. They do not stand by their rebates, no matter how many signs posted about it instore. All they do is give you run arounds until you give up.

you have to really squeeze on frys to get them to resolve rebate issues . . . they keep up like that and they will be looking into a class action lawsuit very soon.

that's not a good solution, the best way to go about it is just to cancel the order. give them 2-3 days and then go online and cancel the order.
