Pretty good deal.

Just ordered a Dell Outlet refurb of the same, for $70 less. Would've preferred new for only $70 more.

I'd hold out for the i5 8250. It has 60% more power.

The battery life + heat + fan noise might be worse. YMMV whether you care about those things.

This deal is much better. $699 starting 11/28
https://www.costco.com/.product.1193982.html

You get 8th gen i7 and 2-in-1.
Build qualify is much sturdier than the xps, IMO. I checked and compared both at costco.

If they had more stock, this would have been a great laptop. It's hard to find the FHD touchscreen model; usually they only have touchscreen on 4K, which is overkill and also an appreciable battery drain. 8GB RAM is enough for non-gaming, and the i3 is more than enough for productivity. If you were really itching for more power, Kaby Lake overclocks ok. The best part of Kaby Lake is that is underclocks decently well, allowing you to maintain load for longer before throttling, and extending battery life a bit if your usage is relatively undemanding.

Interesting that cashback...holic shows 15% eb@tes but OP mentions $50, Is that on top of the 15%? $700 * 0.85 - $50 would be $545, which is a stellar deal.

inspiron is a lower end product line than xps. I doubt your quality statement.

Yes and I compared against the latest xps 13 at costco that has the same CPU/RAM. The only advantage that I can tell is the xps 13 is lighter. But I prefer the build quality look/feel on the inspiron 13
