Good one. It's quieter than cheaper models and car detail kit is very handy, the hose from the kit is much better than standard ones.

Price hasn't gone up. They start it at this price every year and then start clearancing it out. If you're lucky you can get it for ~$30, but the $65 price point is where this becomes a great -- I suppose I should say slick -- deal.

I have one of these, and a few of the hoses (sold the extra vacuums on craigslist, filters on e-bay), they are great. I use it as a dust collection system for my table saw and router. I keep the vacuum in another room with hose extensions, and it still sucks all the dust.

Here it is front page for ~$100:

I'm looking to replace my 12gal 5hp rigid that I purchased for $25 roughly 8 years ago. Prices sure have gone up. I'm game once this hits $60 or less.

Pardon my ignorance, how exactly is this better than the $39.98 from Lowes ?

I have this Shopvac and it is good

I think Ridgid is better than Shop Vac, but this vac comes with the car detail kit which is probably worth $30 on its own.

BTW, I always replace the filter with a Cleanstream filter. They are made of Goretex or something and the dirt just falls off the filter with a few taps They clean better (HEPA) too. I have 2 Ridgid vacs both with Cleanstreams, one has a CleanStream filter that has to be over 12 years old and still works as new. They cost about $30 or so, but I got sick of replacing the regular filter for $15 every 4 or 5 months. Easily pays for itself. Just read FAQ or it so you don't clean up something that will ruin the filter (I keep my old Ridgid filter on the rare occasion I'll be cleaning something that may ruin the Cleanstream)

Your vac's hose is 1-1/4in, the Rigid's hose is 2-1/2in, that makes a big difference in sucking volume Wink I got the $40 Ace Hardware Craftsman vac recently with the bigger hose, and believe me, it sucks! In a good way.

God I love my shop vac. It cleans up everything. Just replace the filter every so often and your good to go. Home depot has a dual pack of the filters for I think 29.99.
