I was going to say something similar lol. Hopefully RAM will be half this price again, but we are probably a ways away from that.

RAM is RAM. These would benefit you more if you have an AMD CPU both in compatibility (which I think doesn't matter as much with recent updates) and speed (both in the general sense because these are 3200s and in that AMD Ryzen works better).

Seeing as the majority of that doesn't apply, stick with what you have. Or if you don't care, this is a great price considering how much RAM costs these days.

RAM prices are supposed to go down in Q1 2018. Samsung is reportedly ramping up production.

Can anyone give some sense of how good a deal is? What's a normal price on these or something comparable?

People have been saying Q4 2018, as production takes two years to ramp up and it started in Q4 2016. But it's all rumors. I've also heard there is price fixing, but again, it's hard to know without being an industry insider.

I wondered the same thing. According to an Amazon price history tracker, the lowest this particular set has been since June is $190. Looking around at other deals here this one seems like a good deal for this speed of DDR4 2x8GB sticks.

Now my own question: is there any disadvantage to using this RAM on an Intel system? It says "optimized for Ryzen". Am I better off getting different RAM for use on an Intel CPU/Mobo?
