Have anyone been successful to order high priced item from 6Ave? Their reviews lead me to think they are Brooklyn scammers.

"If it seems too good to be true, it usually is."

Can't speak too much to this particular item or seller, but i can say a recent attempt to purchase protein powder by a vendor new to me that was listed on SD and seemingly 'vetted' by thw community in the form of thumbs ups and comments from established Slickdeals accts leads me to caution anyone from impulse buys from new or unknown vendors without adequate research.

Longest. Sentence. Ever.

Be safe out there everyone.

The 2017 model is only $1649 from B&H, which seems like way better value. Newer processor, slightly better screen, vastly better video capability and Thunderbolt 3. Fusion drive is a weak link for both if you're going with the base models, but Thunderbolt 3 gives you fast external drive options.

BH gives you the 1TB Fusion drive for $1649 and you must pay $1999 for the 2TB one.

Buy an external--the BH one is still a better deal

Is that the one? I wouldn't pay another $350 for that. Sure, the CPU's marginally faster, the GPU is a bit faster (20%?) but it's still essentially the same machine, with a smaller SSD (cache) and smaller HDD.

6th vs 7th gen CPU, different GPU, 8gb ddr3 vs 16gb ddr4, thunderbolt 2 vs 3... may not matter for some people, but if I'm about to drop $1400 on a pc, I'd rather spend a few extra bucks to get the current model than buy something that's already 2 years old. I'm also the person that would be annoyed that this doesn't have an 8th gen cpu instead, though... Personal preference. Smilie

Yeah, it's about true VR, 4k video capability and hardware-accelerated H.265 with the 2017. Thunderbolt 3 can also support newer outboard video processing down the road — which is where iMacs generally age the fastest. The 2015 sometimes stutters just trying to keep up with its own 5k display. If you're just doing photo editing you might be fine with a 2015, but the 2017 is a lot better with video.
