The rx100 from 2012 is $450. The 2016 version is $950. So....

If you want something with good low light performance (indoor settings), the Sony RX100 is the way to go. I actually bought a Panasonic ZS100 to replace it with its 10x zoom but it failed miserably in low light compared to my first gen RX100. In bright light outside, it was great though with the zoom. It really makes a difference on the lens quality. Keep in mind, I try not to use flash if I can avoid it.

Does this camera have flash? I see a small circle near top of hand grip. How is it in low light situations?

I'm looking for a small form factor camera that I can hopefully fit in my pocket. The g9 x from a while ago looked good, but I missed out. How does this compare?

The 1" sensor is nice, but RX100 is much more expensive, unless you are talking 4 generations old used one.

I got it open box new for $250 from BestBuy a year ago. Check periodically as the first gens still sell (it will give you options on the page if there is one available). It's worth it especially at that price.
