M12 is the 12v line of tools, M18 is the 18v line... M12 is still currently being produced, nothing old about this.

They don't make a m18 ratchet, the battery would be way too big for a tool this size. Milwaukee makes, concurrently, the m12, m18, and m28 lithium battery systems. The size difference isn't age, but voltage size. The bigger voltage size, the bigger the battery.

This is an older ratchet, in that Milwaukee just released the m12 fuel version (due to shop out on the 20th of December it appears), which means it's brushless. That doesn't mean that this ratchet is a bad ratchet, only that it's the version that isn't brushless and is used currently in lots of shops and garages across the globe.

m12 is not old production, like many have stated even as recent as December 2017 we will see new more powerful models added to the line which all will continue to work with current gen of batteries, chargers, etc.

You really shouldn't try and argue a point when you clearly don't know what you're talking about. A quick google search and you'd know that you're wrong.
