Good book. Works as science fiction but I think it is a story that anyone can read. A really well plotted story. Nice and real human depth to the characters. I've given up on most modern SciFi and even the old stuff I used to like, I find most to be kind of childish with cardboard characters. This book was another story. Just a great story and almost on the level of being literature that just happens to be set in a strange period. Characters seemed real and to have actual human emotions and motivations. The people are central to the story and behave in very natural ways. No long speeches and high maudlin drama staring into each others faces. With that being said there is plenty of drama, action, wonder and sense of mystery in the plot that was heightened by being so well done and natural, but nothing overly dramatic and corny that seems to be the new norm. It was a hard book to put down once started.

Agree, awesome series, plus there's a ton other books in the same wool world by other authors... I've read over 20 and still have many to go. I've been hooked for months

Can you link a list? WOOL was great, and I love other authors takes on existing world's.

I read these when they were free from Amazon lending library(sadly no longer). It was excruciating waiting for the next month to continue the series. It's a mix of many genres (no zombies or vampires). It's a look at what one possible future could be for humanity and planet earth and it's chilling as you could see this as something that could actually happen (imho)

Reading Order:
1. WOOL
2. SHIFT
3. DUST

Most people don't make it to the last book in a trilogy, but Dust was one of favorites.
I judge a book by how well I remember the story a month later. While some of the character are forgettable, the story is not. Highly recommended!
