suicide move by Lego, now who's going to buy these sets to sell to future collectors knowing that Lego could just re-release them any time? Sure they will make more money now, but will greatly dampen demand in the long term for all the big sets from this point onward. Not buying any big lego sets anymore unless they are more than 40-50% off, and won't keep any sets longer than 2 years after it's discontinued. Basically i'm done with lego as investment, buying stock is probably less risky at this point, believe it or not.

That's a Chinese knockoff. Check out the "LEGO" logo.

those are fake generic "legos" from china. Some are poorly made and don't stay together as well.

and a simple click on that link showing it as $100 less would show that its a fake, non lego set

Great move by Lego. Hitting the fake market hard and giving the young adults the chance again to get it. Sorry for you not liking it but lego is no investment buy stocks.

believe it or not, lego probably depend on the resellers just as much as consumers. My simple logic tells me this is how normally a demand curve would go if resellers do not exist: demand for particular sets will stretch out over time instead of being focused around 1-2 years (demand will be lower since no one will be buying it to collect), if this is the case, lego would have to keep producing all the sets at a longer, slower, and steadier pace, but this would prevent them from producing more, newer sets. When resellers exist, the demand for a set would go up as they are nearing discontinuation. But now, with this relaunch, resellers take on the additional and much dreaded risk of going against future possible relaunches that would basically instantly crash any investment gain. Like I said, it's a suicide move by Lego, and i'm not even talking from a reseller's perspective. This move by Lego is akin to picking up nickels in front of a steamroller. Sure they will make a few hundred thousand for relauching this set, but loses millions in future sales.

LOL @ the people who are buying legos as investments. Collectibles sure, but as investments, puhleze. I for one salute Lego for recognizing the demand for older sets and fulfilling them, albeit at higher prices than I'd ideally like
