I went into a Best Buy last night, for the first time in a while, and was shocked to see how many of these robot vacuums were on display for sale. Vast majority were Roomba models.

I was just like, wth Roomba, how do you expect people to keep track of all these things?! I want one of these, but I've no idea which to get, which is old, which is new, which is a good deal, which has the features I want, etc.

It just feels like Roomba way over complicates with way too many models.

Sure it does! Why not if Walmart can make a few extra bucks, capitalism at it's finest.

Agreed, so I just got the cheapest Roomba I could and am happy with it. I picked up this model maybe a year ago from Kohl's for around $215 but it still was on super one day double Kohl's cash back open a card sell off your kidney sale.

Of course $10 is cheaper and if I had seen that price I would have cleaned them out.

Anyone have any experience with how Roomba stacks up to the other lesser known brands mainly on Amazon? (Like Deebot for example)

We had a robot vacuum (different brand) and the hair tangling around it was really annoying. I got a 895 wi-fi one from Kohl's for $330 shipped with $90 Kohl's cash a week ago. It shipped but hasn't arrived yet. Not sure how good of a price I got, but I will be happy if hair won't be a problem (which is what I have heard from others)!

I see a lot of positive reviews on this for hardwood and area rugs but how's it on carpets? Anybody with experience?

This is an amazing vac. It does struggle with hair around the brush. I am currently using mine in a walk-in-closet, perfect. I am going to keep all I have, and will watch the clearance sales.

Did yours come with the blue extended life battery?

I just bought a 614 (only difference probably color) it does well on carpet, but I would still use a full size vacuum every now and then.

I would also agree that if your home has pets/women than you should look at upgrading the brushes down the road to the newer style. After 3 uses I was tearing the thing apart to remove hair from the side brush/rollers.
