Target.com [target.com] has Amazon Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD & Alexa Voice Remote on sale for $59.49 with Cyber Monday 15% off Sitewide Discount.. Shipping is free.

I was kinda disappointed with this when it was released, but at this price I figured WTH.

Don't forget Target REDCard or Discover for extra 5%

Please note, this is not a 2nd gen Fire TV replacement. If WiFi does not work for you, then you need to think about upgrading your router. For example, a R7000 or RT_AC68U with AiMesh beta firmware should work fine. Of course LAN is always better than wifi, but I have been using 1st Gen Fire TV Stick with 5Ghz N to stream bluray ISO without any problem in master bedroom.

Please also note that Kodi works on ALL Fire TV/Sticks. Just search "Downloader" on Fire TV/Stick, install it, and use it to download urlhasbeenblocked/kodi176 to get Kodi APK and install it.

Of course you need to enable "Apps from Unknown Sources" in Settings > System > Developer Options.

If Kodi does not appear in Fire TV home screen, refer to here to fix it: http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-fi...ome-screen

Mostly because it has fewer features than the 2nd generation fire TV (box). So if you're coming from a fire TV *box* this might feel like a downgrade. But if you are comparing this to a fire TV *stick* it's an upgrade.

Looks like they really cut corners on the design of this:
- No ethernet (without spending $15 for an adapter)
- no SD card support
- advertisements
- bad user interface

I'll stick with my Nexus player for now.

Would bite if it had USB input to attach a hard drive like the Roku ultimate.

Would it be worth it to upgrade my Gen1 FireTV boxes to this unit?
