Just noticed that Target is offering $300 Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8+ when you bring your number from T-Mobile. From what I saw last time any # will work, they can't check if it is T-Mobile or not.

Offer valid in Target stores only. Bring your T-Mobile phone # to Verizon and get $300 savings on any Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL when you switch from T-Mobile to Verizon. See a Target Tech rep for details. Coverage and products may vary by store. Requires credit approval, wireless plan, qualifying device, porting of phone #, and installment billing agreement for the carrier's required term. Monthly access, data, overage, taxes & other charges apply. $0 down for well-qualified customers. For all others, down payment and other restrictions may apply. Installment billing only: monthly payments for term (24 months) at contract price. 0%APR. Sales tax on device may be due at purchase. If you cancel wireless contract, remaining balance becomes due. Restocking fee and other charges may apply. Number of devices per account may be restricted. Subject to carrier terms and conditions. Terms subject to change. Offers may not be combinable with other credits and discounts. Price match not valid on mobile phones. Quantities limited: no rain checks.

GUIDE TO DOUBLE DIP PROMOS with T-Mobile to Target Verizon to Sprint (OPTIONAL)

Best option is to open as many lines as you can. If you play it right, open 5 lines on Target/Verizon, port them to Sprint. Keep on Sprint for 2 months, get $350 per line rebate + $50 per line Sprint referral credit + $100 Credit Union Rebate. Net could be as low as -$75 for 5 Pixels - this assumes that you open and port the Verizon lines out within 3 days to not incur activation fee and monthly charges. (NOTE: THERE ARE NO DETAILED TERMS AND CONDITIONS ON THE $350 SPRINT REBATE THAT MAKE IT EXPRESSLY CLEAR THAT YOU WILL GET A $350 PREPAID VISA FOR EVERY PIXEL 2/2XL YOU BRING OVER. BRING OVER ADDITIONAL PIXEL 2/2XL'S AT YOUR OWN RISK.)

Target $300 promo says you must port number from T-Mobile. BUT during the Target computer activation, there is an option to select new Verizon number. It works. So if you can convince the Target CSR to select that, you don't need to port a T-Mobile number.
For everyone else, just buy two T-Mobile prepaid kits. One kit to port into Target/Verizon and one kit to cancel Verizon or Sprint.

Does it work with existing Verizon Accounts?
No problem. Just add a line.

Does it work with existing Sprint Accounts?
Be careful with existing Sprint accounts. Very easy for them to deny the $350 rebate. Sprint website says: "Reqs. new account activ." http://sprint.com/byodswitch

For Sprint Referral - you need an existing Sprint customer to refer you before or within 7 days of opening your NEW account. If you are an existing Sprint Customer, you will not get a referral. You are limited to $500 in referrals total - so if you get $250 ($50 per line) referral and you give someone a referral, they open 5 lines, you can get another $250. I have done this before.
https://refer.sprint.com/
Warning: Sprint states that customers on BYOD free plan are ineligible for referrals program. It is unclear if paid lines on BYOD plans are eligible, or if BYOD FREE customers CANNOT refer others. If you want to be absolutely sure, only sign up under a customer who doesn't have BYOD free plan at all.

For credit union rebate, check out lovemycreditunion.org - http://www.lovemycreditunion.org/...ashrewards. You get $100 per line rebated back to your credit union account. I have done this as well before with Sprint. You cannot combine this rebate with American Airlines 25k miles, business rebates of $400 for opening lines etc. Don't try to double dip, you won't get either.

If you port out in 3 business days, Verizon does not charge you activation fee or monthly charges. See link - https://www.verizonwireless.com/o...rn-policy/

You will remain responsible for your Activation Fee unless you terminate service within three days of activation. You will also be responsible for all applicable usage fees, prorated access charges, taxes, surcharges or other charges that accrued to your account through the termination date.

You may get some minimal prorated charges from Verizon - best bet, open the lines and pay the device off/port the number to Sprint the same day or next day.

Pay off Verizon Device Payment Plan (DPP):
You can call up Verizon and ask to pay off the devices early - they will take the money over the phone using your credit card. (YMMV, only for existing Verizon accounts**)
I have done early pay off before - or you can go in the Verizon Store and pay it off.
** Verizon has stricter rules for new accounts... You must pay off your DPP in corporate store with CASH only. No credit cards. No authorized-dealer stores. Phone reps can't pay off DPP until account is 14-15 days old.

This is DPP - not ETF plan. You can simply pay off the device, port out the number - in this case you will be responsible for $350 to be paid to Verizon for the discounted Pixel 2 (more if you do Pixel 2 XL)

Target Verizon iPhones - These are universal FLEX phones for retail. iPhones don't come with SIM cards, so you must first boot with a Verizon SIM card to unlock it. (E.g. If you first boot with ATT SIM, iPhone will lock to ATT.)
Phones from Verizon stores come unlocked.

1 credit pull for each carrier as you are opening 1 account with each Sprint and Verizon.

Sprint Freebies:
Free 6-mon TIDAL per line. http://sprint.com/tidal
Free HULU (limited commercials). website says per account, but people got it to work free HULU per line.
http://sprint.com/hulu

Math for Pixel 2 64 GB - Assumes you open lines and port out/pay off Verizon DPP in less than 3 days so you don't get charged the activation fee or monthly charges (well minimal prorated charges) and you keep Sprint lines open for at least 2 months to get the $350 GC, $50 referral and $100 credit union rebate per line. Yes- you keep the lines open, use them or not, till you get all the rebates back.

Rough guide to buying a Pixel 2
. by Alucard400
By google voice porting:
Basically, you get a new google voice number. you make a new gmail account or use an existing one.
-choose an area code and you're given choices of what number you want specifically.
-you then must choose a cell phone number to link with the google voice number.
-wait about 10 to 20 minutes. then go to http://google.com/voice/unlock. You must pay $3 to have the google voice number "port able" to a cellphone service.
-to get a pin number. i think you must go to the LEGACY google section (click the menu button on the top left and click legacy google, then click the cog wheel settings button on the top right. then click on voice mail and text tab. then add your pin)
-You may need to wait 24-72 hours before porting your google voice number to a carrier. Someone mentioned that GV porting to a carrier on Thurs or Friday means you wait longer because they don't process during weekends and you wait until Monday or late Sunday night.
This will be the status on your google voice account when you start porting and you're waiting for it to process:
---------------------------------
You have a Google Voice number that has been unlocked. You can now initiate porting with your new provider. We will notify you by email once the number has been ported away.
By default, your Google Voice number is locked, to prevent unauthorized porting away of your number. If you ever want to port your number away, you will need to unlock it prior to initiating the porting process with your new provider.
1. Warning: Google Voice has successfully approved your request, but the carrier to whom you are porting hasn't completed their necessary action. If you are still having issues and your number doesn't successfully port in 2-3 business days, please contact your new carrier for support, as Google Voice is unable to take any additional action.

---------------------------------
If you get porting issues to Sprint, it means GV is still being ported to Verizon. I had tried porting a number that was supposedly already ported to Verizon but verizon employees won't know the whole technical aspect of it. The porting department from Sprint had told me a porting request is already in place for the number (because Verizon is still in the process of porting that GV number to them despite me having the phone purchased at the store already). The solution for this is to simply call Verizon. Read the blue text section below in how to do this.

-Before going to Target. install the Target Cartwheel app on your current cellphone or tablet. After it's installed, either log in with your Target.com account or use it as a guest account. on the home screen hit Barcode on the bottom(not the corner). Mine shows either Barcode or wallet as the third icon. Look for coupons or offers. I had 3 available. you will see a matrix coupon, swipe the screen to your left to browse until you see the $300 off Google Pixel 2 offer (expires Dec 9, 2017).
-go to Target to get your iphone/google phone. Start the process by having them scan the barcode!! give them your google voice number, pin. and use the same google voice phone # as your account number. DO NOT SAY IT'S A GOOGLE NUMBER. just say it's a T Mobile number with the cell number also being the account number.
TIP regarding account numbers: some Target Tech (mobile employees) will not take the phone number as an account number. T-Mobile accounts are 9 digit. so make one up. In my case, I took my dad's t mobile account number and changed a few numbers. It may or may not matter as the real porting comes from the google voice phone number. Waiting out the unlock of porting the google voice number is where you may fail or not during the Target purchase. At some point, they made a call and told me I need to speak on the phone and thought I was being directed to speak to T mobile regarding an account to port over. But it was Target itself on the Target escalated services to verify your identity before opening a verizon account.

-If rep insists on a T-Mobile account number that's different from the phone number, the format to make up the 9-digits account number is 113-160-middle three digit of phone number.

-The Target gift cards that are discounted 10% can be used to purchase phones. I just purchased a $300 gift card using $270. Pick e-mail delivery for gift cards. When the rep asks for down payment, simply let the rep scan your gift card barcode directly from your e-mail.

-Down payment, cash pay off: This one seems to be asked on every page TWICE with many of the people not even bothering to read the thread as it has been answered 100x. The Target Tech will ask for a down payment. It is not required regarding payoff/porting out as this part helps you pay for the phone in cash at a corporate store. Phone is $350+ tax, pay as much as you can in a down payment on your credit card. When you pay off in cash at corporate, you pay off the difference and it won't be a heavy burden to pay it in cash since you put most of it under a credit card at Target. It's NOT REQUIRED to pay in cash. you can port out with still a remaining balance on your phone and Verizon will send you a final bill to pay for the rest of the phone. But it's much better to pay everything either in a combination of CC down payment + cash at corporate store or all of it in cash or all on a credit card Down payment before porting because you may run into issues with porting to another carrier if you owe a balance on the phone.

** Aviod the headache of GV porting use t-mobile port mentioned below 100% working and hassle free ***
T-mobile prepaid account way:
For an easier transition, buy a T mobile account digitally emailed to you from ebay. Post #695 gives some info regarding the seller who makes these accounts as dummy accounts to port out of. This would make it a legit T mobile account so you dont run into any kind of hassle with the Target Tech Mobile employee(s).

THE PREPAID account number is the 11 digit wireless number. Ie. 19995555555 for a phone number of 1-999-555-5555. This will save you headaches.

Search on Ebay for item 192349592680

** Check Verizon to T-mobile port out service from the above seller ****

The above seller agreed to provide port out service. Its priced at $7.95, which I think is high. Maybe he accepts your bid for around $5. You have to provide your tel# account# and pin#.

See post #2059 on page 138

Search on Ebay for item 192259043420

I have not tried this as I moved service to sprintt.

YMMV .. Verizon port out now has an digital option
ApplauseApplause

########################################

After purchase. MAKE SURE TO BOOT YOUR PHONE WITH THE VERIZON SIM CARD INSERTED. DO NOT INSERT A SIM CARD FROM ANOTHER CARRIER OR YOU LOCK YOUR NEW PHONE INTO THAT CARRIER.This applies to the iphones but not the pixels.

-Get into your verizon account online with a browser. Log in it and disable your account into vacation mode (suspend).
https://myaccount.verizonwireless...ice.action
Choose the option that makes your verizon monthly cost only $10. This helps you with being minimally charged on your prorated cost of being under verizon in a short period of time. Do this within 48 hours of opening/purchasing your phone from Target. Someone has reported being billed at around 48 hours.
-Find a physical Corporate Verizon store and talk to a rep to pay off what you owe for the device (DPP) and pay it off in cash. Use the verizon website to search for a nearby one. It MUST BE Corporate. So when searching, make sure you check mark "do not include authorized stores" before hitting search. Authorized stores won't allow you to pay off a phone and tell you to wait 15 days.

Based off my experience, it's frustrating and very troublesome to try and beat the 3 day limit so you don't get charged with activation fees with Verizon when porting GV numbers just before the weekend. It's not instant for me and I had to call verizon to stop the port, and then request a new number (got forwarded to customer service and waited an hour only to be told it costs $15 to request a new number). To get a new number without a fee, you can do this on my verizon online, or by phone on the customer service 800-922-0204 (say "CHANGE MY NUMBER" when prompted to say what you want to do).
New Verizon number means you can do an instant port with Sprint without issues. Now call Sprint porting Center at 877-345-7906 to tell them you want to port with the new number and you'll be done without waiting if you had already tried porting to Sprint and is on hold up.

Sprint process:
-Get a referral code from someone (not here in SD as it's against the rules, maybe reddit?)
-The referral and the gift card registration can be done online, doesn't need to be in store.
-You MUST go to the store to get a sprint activation as they require to see your phone IMEI and also give you a sim card. If you got a sim card, you still have to go to the store. NOTE: the Pixel uses a new type of SIM card.
- Do your registration for the Gift card online using the number ported, account #, name, etc. You can also register the info for the referral
-I don't know the process for the Credit Union so maybe someone can add this info to this line
-You can try adding a Work Program SM discount with Sprint to even make this deal more slick than it already is. You will need proof of employment. NOTE: The Work Program SM discount CANNOT be combined with the Credit Union discount! Make sure to only do one or the other.

The process for getting Credit Union reward is pretty straightforward. Though you MUST already ported your number from Verizon to Sprint and have a Sprint account.
-Fill the form for each phone number.
-The credit union website will send a verification code to one of your registered phone number. If you entered a number not receiving service from Sprint (like a number still under Verizon), you won't even receive a code.
-After entering the verification code to the website, you'll be directed to the next page. Pick your credit union from a drop-down menu, fill in your credit union account number to finish the process.
-You will receive a confirmation e-mail confirming the number(s) you registered, the credit union you picked, and the confirmation number etc.

-Keep your service for 61 days or until you get/have the $350 GC shipped. I hope to get mine but I already registered on the website under the GV number but now I have to submit a new form with the new number since the freaking porting process from GV -> Verizon took too long and I canceled it.
-This one gets asked multiple times despite being answered about 20x already. The regular Pixel and Pixel 2 phones are manufactured by HTC. LG is contracted by Google to manufacture the XL version. Seeing HTC/LG on your Sprint account is perfectly normal!! Google does not manufacture the Pixel Phones!

Last part of this guide:
Once you are on Sprint, make sure to update this for better reception.
For people who still linger on this thread even after getting their phones into Sprint already:

Make sure to go to Settings->Mobile Network->Carrier Settings
Update PRL and
update Device Config.
============================================================================================================================================

I did all my port ins - below are the details
1. A few numbers were non-tmobile (internet based) and hence they were not ported. Verizon said it may take 2-10 days. I used automated phone system to CHANGE the numbers as I didnt care about the Ring.to or Sideline. Note: number change doesnt work online - it says 7 days waiting is required. But on phone it worked
2. Once done in morning, I went to Sprint store who were able to do it. Problems I faced:
- there are only specific sims for pixel or iphone and unlickily in my area there were only 3. So i have to go to another corporate store. Most of teh compatible sims are in Coreporate store
3. I dint have to pay full verizon phones I will do it when new bill is generated. I though have received bill from Verizon I am hoping charges will be reversed
4. Sprint charging activation on only 2 lines out of 5 if sone in single day
Now keeping my fingers crossed for $350 EACH as well credit union (I create account but it is pending.. so not sure if I will get $100)

========================================================
My Shopping Experience for 5 phones:

Started the process on Saturday afternoon, finished the entire process on Tuesday afternoon. Here's my experience and tips:

Overview:
  • The process lasted from Saturday night - Tuesday night. With 3-4 hours spent each day. You can ideally do everything in one day, if you don't have to visit many Target stores, isn't buying lots of phones, etc.
  • To ease the process, MAKE SURE all your numbers are portable before starting the process. I purchased 5 T-mobile numbers from eBay and didn't mess with GV.
  • When getting your numbers from eBay, make sure you have your PIN. You can either have one PIN for all your numbers, or request before hand that you want a different PIN for each number. I used 1 PIN for all 5 numbers.
  • Bring your ID, know your SSN
  • Check Target availability for the phones you want to buy. By the time we started the process, most the stores no longer have the color, storage size, and the model we are looking for.
  • The Target Techs who are responsible for doing the promotion and who have sole access to the phones aren't Target employees. Their schedules are pretty unpredictable and no Target employees can give any information. They can be late and not show up and no one can do anything about it. This sucks if only that particular Target has the phone you want in stock and you are trying to port to Sprint that day.
  • To be safe, don't say you have prepaid T-mobile account.
  • Ideally pay off your Verizon balance before porting over the Sprint. While some successfully ported without paying off the phones, I did see some others run into problems. To not risk any delays/holdups, I paid off before porting to Sprint.
  • SD forum is your friend when you run into problems. Be sure to do as much as research before hand though! If you truly run into anything difficult, there are a lot of people here to help you.
  • I ran into a problem when a difficult Tech demanded the 9-digit T-Mobile account number and she wouldn't let us pass with just a phone number. I received help on SD immediately after I posted the issue on the forum.
Extra expenses-
  • Getting 5 numbers from eBay costs about $20. I only ended up using 2 for my 5 phones. But if you run into a difficult Tech, you may very well need to use a number for every single phone.
  • The activation fee costs extra with tax. In TN, it's about $34 for activation.
  • Same goes for monthly plan charge. After tax it's about $121/month.
Here goes the breakdown-

Saturday afternoon:
  • Contacted eBay seller at https://www.ebay.com/itm/Prepaid-...1438.l2649 for T-mobile numbers.
  • Received the numbers on Sunday morning (the seller is usually a lot quicker to respond than this. Our specific situation delayed us in getting the numbers)
Sunday afternoon:
  • Went to Target #1, ran into a difficult Tech. She demanded T-mobile account number. After some back and forth, we eventually said the account number is our phone number because we are prepaying. She called her manager and told us prepaid T-mobile accounts aren't eligible for promotion. We had to leave.
  • Went to Target #2, the rep promptly started the purchase process, asked for ID, SSN, a number to port to Verizon, its PIN. Didn't request any account number.
  • Scanned the Target discount code immediately after scanning the phone.
  • After providing my SSN and ID. I was requested to verify my identity through an automated phone system.
  • I stayed on the safe side, and said I wanted new numbers whenever asked.
  • Bought 2 phones from Target #2. Put 50% of phone's MRSP for each phone as down payment.
  • Used Target RedCard for extra 5% savings.
  • The process took about 2.5 hours with no other glitches.
  • Target Tech will activate your phone(s) with Verizon SIM(s) and make sure your phone is ready to use.
  • Went to Target #3 for a phone that's only available there. The Tech left early so we didn't get anything done.
  • Went home and purchased two $300 worth of Target Gift Card at $270 each (Target's 10% off of Gift Card promotion). Requested e-mail delivery.
Monday:
  • Opened a credit union account.
  • Went to Target #3 at 11am to buy the phone. Target tech didn't show up before we had to leave at 1:15pm. I eventually reached the Tech by phone and he said the the phone is no longer available and has no idea why Target.com displays Limited Stock.
  • Went back Target #1 to pick up other phones. The difficult tech isn't there anymore and I was helped by 2 other much friendlier and laid back techs.
  • Started the process immediately, again asked for ID, SSN. Didn't ask for phone number or account number. I told them I'm adding lines to my current Verizon account because Target #2 doesn't have the phones I'm looking for in stock.
  • Requested new number whenever possible.
  • When I'm getting my 4th phone there, I was instructed to call a Target escalation center because the system showed that I was buying my 4th phone. I had to wait 20 minutes for the line to connect to an escalation agent. After verifying my identity again, she instructed the tech that he NEEDS to make sure I'm transferring T-mobile number to Verizon.
  • Provided another T-mobile number, PIN, T-mobile account number to the Tech (T-Mobile account format 113-160-middle three digit of phone number), and successfully bought my 4th phone.
  • No further interruptions when purchasing the last phone.
  • Paid 50% of phone's MRSP as down payments for all 3 phones. Used the 2 Gift Cards first (Tech simply scan the barcode in your e-mail when you are paying for down payment). After using all my Gift Cards, I used Target RedCard for extra 5% savings.
  • Tech activated all 3 phones.
  • Purchasing 3 phones lasted about 3 hours.
  • Withdrew cash (remember to have your debit card and pin with you. I don't use debit cards very much so I had to spend extra time to find my pin, ugh)
  • Go to Verizon corporate Store. Ask to pay off phones. The Verizon rep didn't ask further questions, and simply let you pay off all your phones in-store.
  • Created and logged into Verizon online account. Suspended all phones by setting it to vacation mode. I did this step last after paying off the phones to avoid potential questioning should the Verizon rep noticed the phones are suspended immediately after purchase.

Tuesday:
  • Remember to PORT the phone numbers you have with Verizon to Sprint, NOT getting new numbers.
  • Rep verified that the phones are paid off and I owned the devices.
  • After asking, rep verified that both the referral and BYOD promotions are awarded per LINE not per ACCOUNT. Applause
  • Proceeded with getting the Unlimited plan at $100/mont with Autopay. After adding tax it's about $121/month.
  • Sprint plan is not a contract and can end whenever you want. The rep will have you sign a page stating that you understand this.
  • Rep from Sprint #1 asked for ID, SSN, Verizon Account #, and phone #s. Other than the ID, he needed the rest of the information MANY MANY times. It's good to write those numbers down and just give them to the rep. Writing it all down is important especially because after starting the porting process from Verizon to Sprint, you can't access your Verizon account anymore to check any information.
  • You don't have to call Verizon to cancel any service. Porting automatically starts Sprint Service and terminates Verizon service.
  • Rep allowed me to use boxes for 3 of my phones after I told him the phones are with family members.
  • Depending on the size of Sprint Store, they may not have enough SIMs. I had to visit Sprint #2 and bring back 2 additional SIMs.
  • Since I opened 5 lines together IN ONE DAY, I was only charged activation for 2 lines. (Just saw some members mentioning that Sprint is doing a promotion today, Dec. 9, which waives all activation fee when you ask to set up business account)
  • Rep made sure my two phones are activated and can make calls. The rest of my phones activated with no issues when I got home and put in the SIMs.
  • Once you have your account number, simply go to https://promo.sprint.com/BYODswit...BYODswitch and fill the form for each number to get the reward.
  • Fill the form for each phone number at https://www.lovemycreditunion.org/sprintrewards to get Credit Union rewards.
  • The credit union website will send a verification code to one of your registered phone number. If you entered a non-Sprint number, you won't even receive a code.
  • After entering the verification code to the website, you'll be directed to the next page. Pick your credit union from a drop-down menu, fill in your credit union account number to finish the process.
  • You will receive a confirmation e-mail confirming the number(s) you registered, the credit union you picked, and the confirmation number etc.
Congratulations. Now just wait 61 days and reap all your rewards!

SHOUT OUT TO EVERYONE WHO FIRST HELPED ME ALONG THE WAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH SDers!

Links are working on my end.

This is $300 off, not bill credits and no gift cards involved. Full price for Pixel 2 will be $350 + tax + activation fee. You can pay it off in two weeks.

Technically speaking they can verify the carrier very easily as you have to provide your account # to port the number. Also there is this
https://www.twilio.com/lookup

So not sure how this would work...

Who has done this with a non-Tmobile #? Can I give them my existing Verizon number as a "T-Mobile Number" and expect everything to work?

Technically speaking a number move within a carrier isn't a "port". Better off trying with a google voice number or something.

I did the same deal with iPhone 7 a while ago, they just ask your number and pin. They even asked if I want to keep the same number or get a new one. Mine was a prepaid sim, att I guess.

What's the cheapest rate plan and for how long do you have to have service before cancelling? Thanks!

I actually don't want anything to change. So I would want my gvoice number to stay on gvoice.

if you search target mobile and find the phone you'll see the promotion there. What is the cheapest and easiest way to get this deal?
