IIRC Always Deals has the reputation of pawning off demos/lightly used returns as new items.

Just got this from same seller over the weekend via Newegg Flash. $799 plus a $100 Newegg GC.

HOWEVER note that these are refurbished as I discovered to my disappointment. Hopefully it will be in good shape.

Was it advertised as refurbished on NewEgg?

It was not. I don't think it is full "refurbished" but what the poster above me said. Demo models and lightly used that have been restored. I haven't received the item yet to make judgement, just saw comments about this seller and this item after I already made my purchase. Should have done my research.

If it's brand new, it's a good deal.

Depends what your needs are. The one weakness is the onboard video vs a dedicated card. Also a relatively small ssd, but it's a laptop.

For my needs, pretty darn good. I had purchased the best buy surface pro with the core m and 4gb of ram. Was really concerned about performance and at the end of the day, its the same price. best buy deal 629.99 plus 99.99 for the pen.

Anyone see it differently?

Ad definitely describes it as new and unopened.

Would say it covers most needs/uses outside of gaming. The 128GB SSD is small, but can supplement with the SD slot - cheapish microSD adapter will sit flush with the edges of the keyboard.

I decided to gamble when it was posted on Newegg Flash for $799 with $100 promotional gift card a bit over a week ago despite the facts of many reviews mentioned slightly used products sold as "New". Finally received it after 3 days processing and 5 days shipping. The box was dirty and not shrink-wrapped with a reapplied seal on the opening. Laptop itself has sign of usage. It cannot be a brand new item. I video tapped the entire unboxing process. Now I contacted Newegg and Always Deals for a full refund (avoid the 15% restocking) with free return shipping provided.

Best Luck to you who wants to gamble on this. Should have waited for the Lenovo Yoga 910 deal (core i7 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Best Buy for $660) and I missed it because I was waiting for the Surface Book to show up. So disappointed.

For $700+, you have plenty of options for a much newer unused laptops.

FWIW, Always Deals doubled down on it being "new" as listed when prompted.

I think the woot one is worth the extra. You get more storage, slightly faster cpu, and dedicated graphics (albeit older gpu).
