It works. I have last year's model with a screen. Just have to be religious of pruning back the large plants.

Wifi would likely only benefit you if you have it tucked away out of sight and need reminders to add nutrients or water. If you see it daily, wifi is likely a waste and just another thing that can break.

I have 3 older aerogardens and haven't had any problems with them other than the light controller on one of them going out thanks to a capacitor going bad. I can only imagine if wifi goes out it may take other things with it.

Basically they need to continue to add "features" to be able to increase the price tag on these things.

Their new "farm" systems were released and on the same day of release had I think 30% off... Talk about inflated prices.

These are a trip.

Some of them are $300 from what I see.

Really good deal. Keep in mind if you have a Discover Card that you can get 5% cash back on BOTH Amazon AND Target right now. .

Additionally, if you decided you want the one at Target if you need to spend the least amount of money and/or WIFI doesn't tickle your fancy, there is an additional 'Discover Deal' you can look up when signed into your Discover account which gives you "Get $5 off an online purchase of $50 or more at Target"

In the end, if you use your Discover card and buy the one at Amazon since it's $10 less than the one at Target, your price BEFORE taxes is $85.45.

If you use Discover to buy one at Target which is $10 more & you use $5 off a purchase of $50, this brings it to $94.95, then Target currently has a 15% off sale making it $80.71. You can then use your Discover card to get 5% cashback for using Discover card to pay for purchase (or use your Target Red Card for 5% off your purchase) which basically makes it $76.67 before taxes).

This leaves a difference (someone please check my math! This is my 1st time to work up my courage to post something) of roughly $8.78 between the 2. (the one at target roughly $9 cheaper BUT the one at Amazon is NEWER and has WIFI whether you think you may use it or not).

Only thing that MAY tip me into buying from Target is if I get my emailed gift card for $10 from buying into the Bounty paper towels deal going on. I could apply that gift card for my purchase...ok..am torn. Without considering the gift card though, I think I'd opt for the one from Amazon....$8.78 in savings on this item isn't enough to make me buy the 1 from Target if Amazon one is newer technology, etc.

Meant to add - Thanks OP! Rep'd you too.

Went ahead and went in for the one from Amazon for myself as I use WIFI/Smart phone technology.

If husband wants to get one for his Mom who is living with my father in law in a very nice retirement community but since it's in a tall building, she doesn't have her plants like she used to love to grow (they are on 12th floor and it's VERY windy up there on the balconies)..maybe something like this where she can grow some things in their apartment might be nice for her.

Maybe by then I'll have my Target gift card but for now I went with 1 for myself from Amazon
