Breaks before then. Id say be ready for problems withim the first 2 years. My first unit Neato BotVac 75 or whatever was on sale from Kohls in March 2015 had an issue within 12 months. Got replaced on warranty by Neato BotVac 80 and it broke down as well within the next 12 months. I did get ST, so just shipped it back to St for repairs (Funai tried to fix the infamous left/right wheel stuck error and couldn't, just wasted my time). ST is a must mate, especially if you are not buying using a CC with extended warranty

Neatos have horrible quality, I went through 3 RMAs each one breaking couple months into a replacement. Finally they stopped sending me replacements since its been 1yr since original purchase. Did not matter that they just sent me a replacement couple months ago. Never touching another Neato again.

Not sure how neato is in business I had purchased 3 in the past and two of them was replaced twice and one once. Each replacement was brand new. All these replacements happened within one year. I have two dead after the warranty and it's a brick now. Got the xiaomi last week and it looks good so far, will know it's reliability after some time.

Not recently, but ending about 2 years ago I had issues with the Botvac 85. I had purchased it from Bed Bath & Beyond and saw on this forum that they have a very liberal return policy. About 10months after the initial purchase, ran into issues with the battery. Neato said this was beyond their 6month battery warranty and wouldn't be covered. Returned it and rebought a new unit from Bed Bath & Beyond. Like clockwork, 10months later same thing. Returned/rebought.

Since then I've bought 2 new batteries off Amazon, but just be aware, Bed Bath & Beyond might be the way to go as they historically were good with returns.

The only issue I've had in about 4years of Neato ownership is the batteries and it getting stuck in places beyond the barriers. It doesn't seem to recognize the barrier magnets. Additionally, sometimes it will clean the entire floor level, then go to a random spot to clean a 2nd time (shouldn't) and get stuck.

I did just get the Hoover Rogue 970 and don't recommend it. Very flaky programming. It constantly gets stuck and isn't mapping the floor plan.

Use Citibank credit card, most now offer 2 years additional warranty, including any extended warranties.

Also, you can buy 3 year Square Trade warranty directly from SquareTrade.com for $45.49 after 30% discount using code 30BF.

I took a shot and offered $380 and it was accepted ($375 was not).

I also bought 3 year warranty for $45 from SquareTrade (use code 30BP for 30% off to drop price) and charged to my Citibank credit card with 2 years additional warranty. I'm covered under warranty for next 6 years.

Coincidentally I'll be retiring my 6 year old Neato that runs daily, and still running fine, with this new one.

Bought a neato pet and allergy model off Groupon a year ago. Besides the battery life deteriorating mine has been running strong. Amazon batteries now give me about an hour of run time. My neato has survived four instances where it knocked the dogs water bowl down and sucked up a tank full of water... I just let it dry for three days after each incident. Man I need to get better at remembering to put that bowl away! Or surround it with magnet barrier.

My Neato Signature XV Pro from maybe 2012-2013ish is still running great. Zero issues. Replaced batteries twice, thats it.

I have the pro as well, (branded Neato Essential which was a Walmart exclusive) and unfortunately is is refusing to break so I can make an extended warranty claim and buy something else. Purchased April 2015
