Dell Inspiron 15 5000 $649

I have been posting in some of the threads with no responses over the last few days and gotta pull the trigger in the next hour or two. Microsoft store would be nice as I have $125 gift card I could use there, but I could always get about $100 after selling it and fees. I need a new computer and want to more efficiently be able to edit basic video(newbie) mostly in 1080, but I have devices that record in 2.7 and 4k. I have gotten it down to a couple laptops I have found and a couple that are on SD. Any help would be great and I want to keep it around $600 if possible less. I am probably not posting this correctly and will be bombarded with witty comments, but I gotta place the order before I leave for the day.

I can do basic upgrades to ssd or upgrade the RAM on my own eventually and use the old HDD for storage.

Anyone that feels that they can benefit from this can leave a comment and I will add it to the post for additional feedback.

It would be nice to post the model and make of the laptop next to the link so people have an idea what exactly it is before click on the link

First I don't if it will work, but you can't get that rebate anyways as the price isn't high enough for that tier rebate. Here is a link to the SD rebate, but I don't see any particular reason it won't work.

I wouldn't bother with the SD rebate. If you use the SD link you end up paying more and then get the rebate later just to match the prices they have available on the Dell page that I linked rather than going through a SD/Dell link via the rebate page.

I think I gotta pull the trigger. I was really hoping to get some feedback between the 7000 series with SSD and i5 8th gen compared to the 5000 series with the HDD and i7 8th gen. I wanted to know if there was really any other difference or was it just the chassis? Basically the 7 was metal and 5 series was more plastic?
