First SlickDeals post ever. This seems like a very good deal on the Sony x850e. I've been going back and forth between this and the more expensive x930e with the x1 extreme chip that will support Dolby Vision, but at this price difference, doesn't seem like Dolby Vision is worth it anymore. If you have an Amazon card, you can choose 24 months financing, or 5% cash back (but you lose the ability for Credit Card protection services or extra year(s) of additional warranty, or just get square trade to protect your new TV)

It's a fantastic tv. I got the 75" version of it and can't be happier.

LOL. Yea there is a huge difference between those sets. Can't recommend the 850e over the 900e.

The 850e does not have local dimming which makes a huge difference.

It's still a great deal for 850E. It doesn't have local dimming as 900E. But, the 850E is a great buy at this price point.

So....bestbuy and many others have this at this price. With rewards bestbuy is actually a better deal.

The 850E is still very good though. If you check the reviews on Rtings.com it really isn't much of a step down for most people.

I've looked at them side by side and immediately wrote the 850e off but I tend to be very picky

Isn't 850 side lit and 900 back lit/full array. Big difference right?

Good price for 850e. Same price at BestBuy and several other retailers this week. The 850e has the X1 processor and offers a very nice picture/price combination, but if you can afford it, consider upgrading to the 900e for $300 more (current sale price). The 900e is brighter with better contrast, due to local dimming and a full array.
