I just purchased the 1000 sheet one. Reviews are very few, long ago, and meh at best. But it's cheap, and has worked good enough for me.

If anyone knows of a cheaper option for toner for this printer, please let me know! (it has a chip in it, so re-filling it doesn't work)

I finally bought a Brother last year for less than $100, the toner refills are about $15. For the longest time no toners were available.

What model? I need something different. I'm shipping stuff on ebay and amazon. I've set my Canon PX492 to Draft quality, but It still eats cartridges like candy. Tired of it!

Front page has two compatible brother toners for ten bucks free shipping with prime. And they are great compatible toners.

apparently theres a way to cover a contact on the cartridge and power the machine off then back on or something like that... if im not mistaken someone somewhere reported that they were able to do this and the cartridge always said 'low toner' but they were able to refill it and it would print until the printer lost power in which case the procedure with covering a contact and powering off and on would need to be repeated. i cant confirm that it does or doesnt work bc personally i never bothered. i just found a diff brand and stored the pantum.

if im not mistaken the person who posted that they were able to string their toner cartridge out with the method vaguely described above stated that the pantum is very similar to a certain samsung model and that they based their experimentation with the pantum on something they read regarding how to do the same or similar with the similar samsung model...

Thanks! So you remember anything else about the thread (not the post) that might help me search and find it? Was it a toner thread? A printer one? Roughly how long ago? Did YOU post in it?

Also, do you recall why they had to re-cover the contact on the toner? Once it's covered, wouldn't it stay covered?

i am not sure, it was very vague and somewhat dated when i saw it. i think they had a lot more info on a cloud link or something but they were all dead links by the time i came across it. it was not on this forum it was something else. i didnt take the time to sign up.

and if i remember right, no one had spent money on multiple cartridges to see if the printer was somehow remembering like the last 3 cartridges or something along those lines <ie if it thinks 'cartridge one' is dead it wont print until it sees 3 other cartridges and overwrites info about 'cartridge one'>

i have also come across some stuff discussing it but it was all written using cyrillic and in languages i couldnt get the translators to decode.

i dunno, just figured i would dump what little i had heard just in case it inspires someone.
