This popular compressor is on sale again for $44.14. This is the lowest price seen since July 3rd and the second lowest price it's ever been on Amazon.

The 88P is generally considered to be the superior Viair compressor. It features the longest duty cycle, highest CFM (airflow), and longest hose of the available Viair models.

Note: This unit connects directly to your car battery rather than through the auxiliary power adapter.

You don't have to mod them, you can purchase quick connect fittings in the proper size to connect to a standard size inflator.

A good use for surplus gear.

Though getting the tanks filled costs a little, plus the tank inspection on a periodic basis.

Just FYI, if you ever need the warranty, you will have to ship the item to them at your expense. Just hope that any issues arise during the amazon return window.

if you are just using it to keep your tires at the correct pressure, then i highly recommend EPAuto. the viair is really meant for off roaders who constantly depressurize and repressurize before and after off roading. the high duty cycle (which is important if you fill all 4 of your tiers from 10 PSI to 32 PSI without taking 10 min break) is entirely useless when you just filling your tire from 25psi to 32 psi. but the auto shut off and an accurate PSI reading is extremely nice feature (both of which the VIAIR lacks) to have.

Picked one up, thanks. Should work well for my RV tires, they hold 80 psi. And much more portable than my 5-gal pancake compressor.

EPAuto says, "DOES NOT SUPPORT LT, HT and Truck Tires." Deal killer for me, unfortunately.

Meh, if youre going to buy something why not have something nice. I was about to pull the trigger on one from harbor freight before I saw the flow difference. This is totally worth the little bit extra.

Yup this one OP posted is one of the few rated to work on tires up to 33". Most will not work on a standard truck. My stock F150 comes with 32" tires.

Thanks OP! Was looking into these a while back and then got sidetracked and forgot about it. Looks like it's time to order one now. It's always annoying having to drive to a gas station and stick some quarters in a machine to top up my tires. With this, I can easily do it at home or on the road.

Any reason to get this from Amazon instead of Walmart? Same price, but estimated tax is a little lower at Walmart.

Can someone explain the reasoning of this? It says up to 120 psi max, or is it more the volume of air?

Volume would be my guess. Perhaps if someone were to observe proper duty cycle (the spec'd safe continuous runtime vs cooldown time), the volume of air in a truck tire would mean it would take excessively long for the pump to inflate the tire and cause more wear and tear than designed. Total guess though.

Why would one need to mod? Hookup a first stage, a power inflator hose, a tire inflator insert...
