#facepalm. The only people I'd want noticing my Swiss watch are the ones who'd know what IWC is.

Cuz we've heard it a thousand times...

This model has the IWC Calibre 79320, which is an IWC-modified Valjoux Calibre 7750. Not exactly the standard ubiquitous (but reliable) 7750 but you are not buying this watch because of its movement. It's an attractive watch that's relatively inexpensive for an IWC, although personally I prefer the Big Pilot or Portuguese

For that price buy a breitling or omega at least people will know the name. And for $4k on a watch, you obviously want people to know the name.

To each their own.

IWC will do nicely above and beyond a Breitling or Omega as they are hardly in the same league.

Pretty good deal!

Depends on the model. Not this one. This one is a ETA based model. Omega 8500 in house movement is around 4K, which is much better.

This will hold it's value better versus Omega and others in this range...

This is a fantastic watch. At $300 off, not a bad deal, but not on fire either. Personally, I've been eyeing the Petit Prince version of this watch for quite some time, with the blue-faced dial. I don't quite have the right wardrobe to match this version of the Pilot.

You'll probably never sell this watch for less than $3,500 - and it may appreciate - so it's not exactly fair to look at it as $4K down the drain.
