Why because you get a $100 credit that you'd likely not use?

I meant in general, just look at the tendency of phone being sold after few weeks of pre-order, a lot of BOGOs, bill credits and more.

And yeah, $100 store credit is still something, use it towards Youtube TV sub or buy some apps, never expires

He he he Smilie true that. That applies for all depreciating assets such as electronics, vehicles etc. Gold and real estate are in a different league. Wink

I don't think it's play store credit. It could only be used for hardware

This was the only good deal we could find now for an pixel 2 that is not tied to any carriers / adding a new line / purchasing an expensive monthly service plan. In general, there are usually no good deals for unlocked phones in the US as this market is highly dominated and controlled by carriers.

ALL pixels (OG and 2) are unlocked, just fyi.
Honestly, if you're not a data hog, I saved $100 a month with a 3 phone plan when we switched to Project Fi (google cell service) and never had better customer service anywhere.
these phones work on ALL carriers, as they contain antennas for all US networks. place of purchase does not change this.

Anyone try talking to Google to see if they'd give the $100 credit if you previously bought the phone?

Blame it on all those 6p's that were exchanged 2 months ago for pixel XL when Google was letting people exchange them even when out of warranty.
