Thanks, CCC says the combo with the hammer drill has never been close to this, and no tax.

Any way to get Home Depot to match this?

I wish I hadn't bought the 796 bare last month. I was waiting for the 791 and 887 combo, but this is a crazy good deal and would have easily gotten this instead.

Not sayn' this isn't a good deal, but the compact is really not that much better than any other cheepies.. cuz u wouldn't be pulling big jobs with them anyway.

The big boy versions are worth it.. dc9xx

What do you mean? The impact isn't that good? Please expand on that

no they're good tools on their own.

Dewalt has the compact version 7xx and larger 9xx versions.

For the 7xx, compared to cheaper tools, they're really not that much better, and for what you're using them for, smaller jobs, the cheapies are just as reliable and do as good a job.

So an example would be, if you just needed to haul something to your neighbor's house, a small trolley would do, even if it was flimsy and had only 3 of its 4 wheels.

Whereas if you wanted to take something big to grandmas, you need a nice big reliable truck..

This is an awesome price on the XR combo. 2AH will go a long way with these brushless models. Looking at my PC brushless combo with disdain...

Yeah, only the compact version is a perfectly fine small truck that suits 99% of the people in the market for these, and the larger versions are a dump truck for when you really need to haul small boulders to grandma's house. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Hammerdrill alone is $149.00 plus tax on Amazon. The impact driver is $118.57. The same kit is $299.00. PLus tax. Great find, I just bought me a Christmas present.

This drill is SO much better then their 771, 777 cheapies. You're crazy. It's got the nuts to handle what most can throw at it here. I'll knock the cheap Dewalt's all day - BUT I'll use this all day....and I have and use both the large 996, and this 796. I always grab for this drill first.
