are Apple products expensive? YES

are they worth it? depends on what you value.

for some, the polish, tighter hw/sw integration (which makes it easier to have fewer issues due to incompatibilities or drivers), overall user experience, quality and efficiency of the apps, great build quality, better anti-glare coatings, and etc., the time savings from just having something that works (not requiring as much time to setup an configure and update (as Linux would)), and less targeted by those with malicious intent than Windows, and generally better resale value, are all things that make it worth for some to pay a premium for Apple products.

How much value do you put on time savings, so you can focus on actual meat of activities and work, less on messing with configurations, going thru hoops to successfully update (including tracking dependencies and what not)? For some, time is money, and it's worth it to them to be able to avoid $1000+ in time spent troubleshooting and getting things working (just so you can get to the heart of your activities), by paying $500 extra or so premium by going Apple vs Windows, for example. Then, if/when you sell as pre-owned, and likely get more of your money back than you would with a competing Windows product that may be cheaper up front, the price difference closes further.

So let those who want to buy Apple buy Apple instead of feeling compelled to "smh" at them. It's their money, and their values are different.. so what do you care? why waste your time coming into every thread about an Apple product just to "smh" and cast your own judgment, which only shows a narrow perspective (that yours is right and theirs is somehow wrong, foolish, or otherwise)?

... and that's what the "smh" posters don't seem to get

Peace!

$70 under what I bought for at B&H. Enough to buy the ports that Apple left off! Too bad I already ordered last week.

My friend ordered last week as well and it was $1300 yesterday. She chatted with them and they refunded her $50

Would it be better to buy a used 2015 15" from CL for same price then?

I've owned the 13" and 15" models in 2016 and 2017 flavors. Keyboard issues. I'm a huge MacBook Pro Apple fan, but unfortunately have to be done with these until they fix the keyboard issues. They're beautiful when they work. The keyboard is just too critical of a problem to overlook. As soon as they have an event announcing a revamp keyboard, I'll be in line preordering.

I ordered the $1090 deal a week ago from this seller. The shipping label that gave me still shows it hasn't been picked up. YMMV
