Beware that this model blocks the other outlet. The newer "mini" model doesn't. Also, Amazon was selling this for $5 with Echo purchase through yesterday. Total for Echo Dot + Smart Plug was $35. Best Buy had an even better deal as they bundling the new "mini" model for $5.

I know those deals aren't available anymore, but just mentioning for reference.

In my experience these are much better than wemo

I am bummed this can't be added on SmartThings like Wemo. It was a waste of money for me when I bought this before.

How so? I have some wemo plugs, but would consider buying some of these at this price. But I'm curious as to why you say these are better than the Wemo plugs?

Yeah, thanks. I didn't realize until I clicked the link that this was the older/bigger model. No wonder they are dropping the price on these. I'll stick with the Wemo Mini plugs for $20.

I originally bought three Wemo Insight plugs and one works flawlessly consistently, one works half the time (doesn't respond at times, very slow at times, works fine sometimes) and one just stopped working completely and can only be operated by manually turning it on and off from the power button on the plug. I've reset the device, updated the firmware, etc and it still will stop working entirely after a few minutes. My two TP Link plugs on the other hand have worked flawlessly since day one and are lightning quick. Set up is easy as long as you check "allow remote control" in your Kasa app prior to adding to Alexa. I'll probably buy more of these

Yeah I think they want them gone. I was able to get 3 of them on Prime day for $8 each via Alexa voice deal.

I have had a couple of Wemo plugs for years but I just now took the Prime day TP-Links out of the box and connected them. Don't have a real use for them yet so I have no comparisons.

My Wemos do go offline from time to time and need manual intervention to recover.

I have a wemo insight and the rules always have an issue of not turning on or off automatically as it should.
