These are a definite step up from those. I bought one of the $49 ones and you can see some blemishes in the paint, I'm not expecting the frets to be perfect (I actually bought it to practice fretwork on and I'll probably give it away eventually), but for $49 it's pretty amazing. These Schecter guitars are going to be a class above that one, in terms of craftsmanship, materials, etc.

Yeah I noticed black specks above? The gloss layer last night and a few possible other flaws . It's really hard to see unless looking for it. Unfortunately I can't afford 7 different 509-1099$ guitars one for each major tuning or I would try one of these again. Tho the other ones were quite heavy

Pretty sure these are made in South Korea.

Yep. Made in Korea. Got one last week. Overall good guitar but I had to do some setup to get there as fret buzz was quite bad.

Wish they had the blue sunburst in through body! Love Floyd rose bridges but your stuck to one tuning!

Edit, 6 string!

I bought a Schechter 7-string hollow body electric guitar probably 15 years ago in a clearance sale for around $225. At that time the list was over $1000. It was an incredibly well made guitar, red with nice pearl inlaid fret pieces... beautiful and sounded great! I hated the 7-string part of it because it made it a little harder to play, but I played it for a long time.

I can vouch for how well they used to be made, anyway, and I wish I could have kept it, but I didn't need it, and I sold it and made probably $400 on it shipped to Canada to a guy that was glad to get it.
