If you have real nasty grout get a steam cleaner. Another good way to clean grout/tile/showers/bathtubs is take a 32 oz spray bottle, add about 8 oz of dish soap like dawn and fill the rest with white vinegar. Spray down the surface, spray again 15 min later, wait 15 more minutes and then scrub with a brush and it should take most of the crud out fairly easily.

bought this 2 weeks ago because wanted to clean some floors. Leaked all over the place and just used it to suck up the water after using a good old scrub brush for tile. Not worth at all IMO

Hoover.com has some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. They removed a coupon from my order without any notice, charged the full amount to my credit card without approval, and then refused to refund it when I caught it. Thank god for credit card disputes.

Please do yourself a favor and avoid buying anything Hoover, especially directly from Hoover.com.

Been using this on our laminate for the past year and a half and haven't had any problems. Actually does a decent job scrubbing floors clean. U just have to know how to properly use it (a few passes on wash and then dry to suck up excess moisture)

I love this floor cleaner! I bought the previous model last winter and it cleans my wood and laminate floors so well, nothing else has come close.

Two weeks ago the tube that goes to the dirty water reservoir cracked, I've been meaning to call them about the warranty but I've been dreading it since I've heard such awful things about their customer service. In the meantime I've gone back to using a steam cleaner and a regular mop in the meantime, it just isn't the same.

how does compare to the Bissell Crosswave?
Used the crosswave. love it, but not sure how many years it'll last. it's also very expensive.

Are the floormate brushes hard enough to scratch the coating on hard?

I bought this for around $88 and I still think it's great.

I just use a hot water and vinegar mix to clean faux wood floors and it seems to do the trick. Not sure if I use it right, but you need to hold a trigger button when u want liquid to dispense, and has a setting to make the brushes spin or not if you are simply drying the floor.

I hold trigger while going forward to clean then release it when pulling back and it suctions up most of the water. Might have to do a few passes if a few drips are left, or have a clean rag handy to wipe up a drip or 20.

Saw some reviews where the engine rusted out.. but their pics made it seem like a malfunction so... idk!

With proper solution I bet this thing cleans like a champ!

I bought it several months ago to try it on my tile floor. It does a decent job on the tile, but the brush rides above the grout missing most of it.
