ATad2Much4Ya - Here's what I did to get $20 credit back on my CC:
1) Called WS CS at 1800-541-1262 , waited on hold for 30 minutes.
2) spoke to CS, said I was trying to figure out what happened to my instant rebate. She said she'd check, but heard "something" about it before, and that it would take 6-8 weeks to arrive. I said, "Thank you for checking, but please be sure you ask about the right rebate. Mine was supposed to be instant, and I filled out a form online right after ordering."
3) After waiting for about 10 minutes, she came back and said she "found out" that the rebate is supposed to take 3-6 weeks, so I should wait until after New Years. I said "That's strange, because the website said the rebate was instant, not the standard mail-in rebate type." She said, "I'm sorry, I don't know how they expected their instant rebate would work." So I said, "I searched online trying to figure out this rebate thing, and I came across forums where some people said their CS agent was able to credit them back $20 on their CC. Can you do that?" She said "Sure. Oh wait... let me check." Then took my order number and put me on hold for less than a minute.
4) When she came back, she said that since she's had other customers who already emailed her images of the rebate offer and form, she doesn't need to confirm that the rebate offer exists, and then she credited back my CC with $20. I said thank you. (I didn't call her out on already having had prior customers ask about this!)
This is just my opinion, but I think the CS were told to tell people to wait for the rebate, but only if someone insists or specifically asks for the $20 credit, they can do it. I was polite, and let her run through her scripted responses and "checks" with supervisors or whatever. I haven't check my CC activity to confirm the credit yet, but hope this helps!
