I see reviews that the OS sucks and full of glitches, from the price standpoint it is good though.

Any ideas on how good/bad this unit is?
Thanks!

Take a look HERE [smallnetbuilder.com]. Best NAS / router review site out there IMO. Personally, I have the Thecus N2000 (Windows Storage Server based) and really like it, but it's a totally different beast than this.

Looking at reviews I'm scared to purchase. I'm simply too busy to be messing around with this to get it to work. Great price, but sounds like you get what you pay for here.

Bit the bullet and purchased it. Being in IT, I am a bit more tech savvy than the average person. Hopefully this will allow me to troubleshoot any shitty OS experience. However if it turns out it is a straight up piece of garbage, I'll return it.

Hardware sounds ok (though I've seen reports of warranty issues). Software seems the weak link. I'm curious about other OSes. Hopefully someone will post whether we can run FreeNAS/Xpenology/etc. before Amazon ships me a four bay.

I share your IT career circumstances too and just bit the bullet. Any update on your experience? Is it as terrible as other users are making it out to be? Hope you haven't returned yours already lol.
