I've been looking for a express maker, one without the pods for a while. This seems like a great deal, good reviews, however I see that people consider this a "budget" express maker. What is the next step up from this? One of the more common complaints I'm seeing is that because it's made out of plastic, it won't last as long and you'll probably get at most 2 years out of it. Manufacturer warranty experience however seems to be well received.

Any one know how this compares to a more traditional machine? I bought this one https://slickdeals.net/f/10685740-hamilton-beach-espresso-machine-44-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo when it popped up here last month. Reading reviews, it looks like the best one out there until you start dropping a couple hundred dollars. But this one was the other that stood out. It just seems that the automatic frother would make simple drinks easier, but kind of limiting on what you could make.

I have this at home and in my office, my wife's mother has it too. It has some quality issues but they are resolved quickly by customer support if it's under warranty. Otherwise it's a really good deal and it makes great coffee, don't expect it to brew like 3000$ espresso machine but for 100$ it's definitely much better than you expect .

Are you getting essentially strong coffee, or actual espresso with crema and all?

I would jump on this if the espresso is dispensed with crema and all my nespresso machine kills me every month with the pods anyone know?

I was looking for deals on something like this during Black Friday sales but its ironic to find this after lol

I see some great reviews on this and its pretty decent for the price but I do some issues with the lid which will need a replacement in a year or so. I grabbed it anyway to avoid buying my lattes every day and rather make my own.

Fingers crossed, this will last a couple of years without any replacement parts.

Purchased the same machine back in July for $120. Good for the money. Decent cappuccino and latte. Expresso is ok, not as strong and creamy as $500 machine one. Knock on wood, I had no issues withe the machine.

The best thing I like about this is that it doesnt need pods anymore. I wish I could just pour coffee beans for it to grind and make my espresso and other drinks. But for now, I'll grind them myself and use this for my latte.

I end up spending too much money buying lattes every morning. Rather put some extra effort into this. Grabbed mine, fingers crossed it will last a couple of years without any replacements.

Anyone use this to make lattes? The reviews sound decent so I'm hoping its worth the investment and this is certainly a great deal at $106. I wish I could get the white one for that price, but this will do for now.

I'm sure this makes 100x better coffee than a Kuerig, but they are so darn convenient. I don't have to take the time to put milk in the frother, then pour the rest out that I don't use and then clean it (although I don't think any Kuerigs make latte's anyways).

Then you have to put grinds in and clean it after it's done.

That's a lot of work for coffee, but if you actually drink coffee for the taste, this is worth it. I only drink it for the caffeine and as long as it tastes OK, i'll take it.

It's more work, but not nearly as much as you think.

You don't pour out the restof the milk you don't use. The container you use easily detaches and you put the entire thing in the refrigerator with the milk in it. I'm insane about spoiled milk too, it works just fine for 3 days. You also don't have to use it at all if you'd like to be lazy that morning. Make an espresso and add some milk on top if you'd like.

Grinds are pretty easy, just get a knockbox and wack them out (can use for compost if you're into that, or just trash it once a week). One scoop and you tamp it down, that's all.

Agreed. But doesn't Amazon card have 5% or similar?
