Monoprice has their Cat6 jacks for .59 + shipping. They are over $1 on Amazon and higher everywhere else. I needed 100 jacks for an install and the shipping was only $7.

his is a steal compared to Home Depot and other stores! Its only really worth it if you need over a dozen because of the shipping

CAT6 cable just has a divider in it for crosstalk, wires are the same.

So cat5 and cat6 keystone jacks are identical?

Bottom line: I already have the cat5 installed and need the keystones.

So this will work fine with the existing cat5 wire and regular plate covers?

I made the mistake of wiring my house with cat 6 shielded as I had to cross or be close to electrical wires in several spots. I didn't ground it anywhere (someone debunked the myth that it turns out to be a giant RF antenna). But that shielded wire was tough to work with terminating at the keystones because of how stiff it is. Does anyone know of some kind of small strain relief I can use in my gang boxes so the keystone isn't getting strained?

If you are using a keystone plate these will not sit next to other keystone jacks FYI

i need 20 and 10 plates, but as usual shipping kills it.

ebay is usually cheaper on all keystone plastic parts.

I've got some of these from monoprice, They're good jacks, but I F'ing hate monoprice, They are really selective about what reviews they'll publish, EX: Negative reviews sit in limbo forever while positive reviews get approved quick.

And their CS is bogus as hell.
Unless something changed do not buy their CAT 6 RJ45's.. JUNK!

That and the cable itself is very stiff so keep that in mind, not fun to work with.

I made the same mistake with similar Cat6. I dealt with problems for awhile, then I finally bit the bullet and re-pulled the same runs using better/less difficult cabling. I had to redo 27 drops.

Do you know this is a problem just with Monoprice's plates or just plates in general using their jacks?
