Disney's Nightmare Before Christmas is now available in Digital HD (not SD) from Amazon for $9.99. This beats the recent Frontpage deal for $12.99 at Vudu, iTunes, and Google Play.

If you're reading this deal, you're probably already familiar with Movies Anywhere, which gives you access to this same purchase across iTunes, Google Play, Vudu, and more.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe DMR points only come with discs, not digital purchases. The Nightmare Before Christmas has a couple of previous disc releases, but neither is ideal - one old Blu-ray comes only with a digital file (not a code), and the other is a $30+ 3D version.

Since DMA has changed to MA, we will no longer get points for Disney digital purchases. If you get a code from a DVD or Blu-ray, you can redeem the movie on MA, then still redeem for points in DMR.

Edit: So, yes, before MA, we did get points for digital purchases, but not anymore. Also, the digital file you mentioned is XML, which can be redeemed in iTunes and will add a digital copy of the movie to your MA account. These used to be upgraded to HD automatically, but again, since MA, they are now SD.

Interesting. I have a few Disney movies coming in from BF, but I haven't redeemed any through MA. Will they still receive DMR points, or will I need to redeem them again elsewhere?

You redeem them at the DMR website for points.

Netflix is free? Also I believe Disney will be launching it's own service of some sort and withdrawing all movies from Netflix (still a ways off).

Once Disney's contract pull-out from Netflix clears, their movies will go with them

Good deal. Don't waste your time looking for a Blu-ray with code. First of they're rare.. It redeems on iTunes with digital copy disc only. Transfer to MA as SD. Not worth the trouble.

If you have Google play, they had a 50% off $20 or less that is good til the 3rd of December. With that on Google play is 6.49 and should port to all services with movies anywhere.

Just a heads up the Blu Ray 20th Anniversary is a dollar cheaper. Also on Amazon. I've had it in my cart for a week but haven't pulled the trigger yet and probably won't since I DVR'd it.
