Clear plastic basically boils down to two types, acrylic and polycarbonate. Acrylic is scratch resistant, but it shatters so that's not really suitable for safety glasses. Polycarbonate tends to bend or deform instead of shatter, so it is used for safety glasses, but unfortunately it is very prone to scratches.

Search for "hard-coated polycarbonate". That's sort of the best of both worlds. It's a non-shattering polycarbonate, but with a hard coating so that it's not prone to scratches.

Keep in mind that inside a workshop or whatever, plastic is still going to be quite soft compared to everything else in that environment. If you don't want it to scratch, always keep it either in a padded case or on your face. Don't throw it on the bench or in the toolbag or whatever. Hard coated polycarbonate is not going to hold up if it is rubbing against steel. Thin cloth bags aren't going to protect them either... tools will scratch right through that.

No, not if you keep them from underfoot. Scratching has been my problem. Scratch-resistant is not scratch-proof.
