Found this at the bottom of the checkout page:

Some items in your order ship in their own box and will be visible when delivered. To cover this package for free, choose 'Ship in Amazon box' for each item listed below.

You have to click on "Ship in Amazon box", and select the items you want to be shipped in a box

Just bought this from Amazon last week. Beware, it ships in... nothing. They just throw a sticker on the lego box and ship it, so be prepared to nab it before anyone sees it.

Same here - I returned it and it was a true hassle to confirm the refund. The box was completely sticker laiden and jacked up - I wasn't going to give it as the intended present.

It's not Amazon. It's fulfillers selling on amazon.

No dude, it's amazon direct. It's happened to me. And pretty sure "fulfilled by amazon" is basically amazon too, the shipping part at least.

It's all from Hebron, KY fulfillment center. I was shocked to find the LEGO Palace Cinema on my porch without an outer box.

It is. The only things you shouldn't purchase from Amazon are stuff from third party sellers.

We've looked at selling on amazon for our business and I believe I've seen something, under certain circumstances, where vendors can be labeled under the "umbrella" of fulfilled by amazon. Maybe even more now for the holidays. No different than say Apple ramping up support areas using contract vendors during peak times (now). Still, this falls under Amazon QC and this shouldn't happen.

FBA= fulfilled by amazon. The amazon warehouse packs and ships material for the seller and warehouses the product. The only distinguishing feature on the product may be a sticker over the upc barcode. SBA = sold by amazon. The seller lists product on amazon, but like eBay, has to pack and ship it. If your lego sets are coming from an amazon hub, then it is FBA or simply amazon.

For those of you saying about it coming without a shipping box, ALWAYS select that it's a gift. They are obligated to box them in that situation. I worked at Amazon
