Seems quite expensive for adventure bike with aluminum frame. Are you paying for brand here? Or I am missing something?

Brand is one, the Slate line is a new road concept that Cannondale recently introduced. A lot of the price is tied up in the carbon fiber lefty fork. Pretty good deal for a 2017 model too.

Really interesting bike concept and one I wasn't aware of. I've tried taking my CX bike on some of the gentler mountain bike trails, but not successfully - the skinny tires just can't hook up in the soft stuff (and I'm not as athletic as I was ten years ago! laugh out loud).

So this bike looks like a cross between a 'cross' bike and a MTB. Interesting.

22 lbs is decently light even for a CX bike without the front fork, so I imagine this would make for a more comfortable ride on the gravel paths, at the cost of some energy from the bouncing fork and the fat tires.

Not sure I'd buy it even at this price, but sure would like to ride it for a day.

Thumbs up for posting an interesting bike deal. Applause

Interesting concept. Would make a great all-purpose ride if you can only have one bike and prefer cdale. I personally would prefer steel or cf frames for this style, but 105 is proven and good.

Thanks for posting... Im just not sure the SD community is the targeted audience.

I too enjoy the bike deals... but objectively, this is not a SD by any mean. a 30mm (3cm = a little more than an inch) of shock travel... mind as well buy one of those gimicky suspension stems and seat post. The way I look at it, I see a mountain bike with drop bars and road bike geometry.

Some may put value in the cannondale name, or some value on this funny shock, but I would value this package at ~$1000 to be a good deal.

I wonder whats next... they put some fancy carbon fiber fenders and knobby tires on a road bike and call it AWV (All weather vehicle)?!
