Normally, a water block for gpu custom cooling costs $100+
A decent gtx 1080 costs $500+
This is $535 with water block installed (correct me if I am wrong, but this is what I think in the package), so pretty decent deal for anyone who needs a gtx 1080 and want to do custom cooling.
I only play csgo, so my gtx 970 is more than enough for me, otherwise I might jump to the deal right away.

Decent deal. Had nothing but good experiences with MSI (770, 970, 1080).

Hell, my GTX 770 4GB is still going... going. With most games. Just hope we'll see sweeter deals when the next line of cards come out, so I'll have a reason to upgrade.

If I don't use a water cooler would this card still work without it?

We will not.

Mining isn't going anywhere, unfortunately, and Nvidia rarely ever lowered prices back when demand was solely from gamers alone - you think, what, they're magically going to wake up tomorrow and be, like, "hey, we've made a tidy profit for a long time running, maybe now we should do something nice for our customers, y'know?"

LMAO

actually idle and on the desktop it should have enough metal to not overheat in any case with a reasonable amount of airflow.

It's been around this price before. I expect this card doesn't sell well, as custom loop cooling isn't very common. If I didn't buy a Freesync monitor last year I would be all over this.

All these 1080 deals last much longer now, and 1070 Ti are in stock everywhere
I can sense price drop soon
