I was looking for a reason to learn another instrument on the "Yousician" app, and found a great deal on a beginner ukulele. Compare with previous frontpage deal for a Sawtooth Pineapple, where this has a built in tuner/pre-amp and it is a longer neck concert size uke.

Regular Price: $79.98
Walmart Clearance Price: $31.19 [walmart.com] NLA
Also available is the Soprano Uke for $22.81 [walmart.com]
Concert appears to be the only size that offers a pre-amp, but clearance is for all sizes, you can get the Tenor for $39.59.Amazon has several models of Sawtooth ukuleles and the Fakespot scores are 'A.' Read them at Amazon [amazon.com].

Choose in store pickup for free shipping or add a filler (padded gig bag [walmart.com] is $6.97) to reach $35 for free shipping.

Description:
The mahogany top, back and sides produce a warm, rich mid-range tone. A perfect uke for a player at any level. This pack includes everything you'll need to start playing Ukulele! This Ukulele includes a preamp.

Sawtooth Solid Top Mahogany Concert Ukulele with Preamp and Quick Start Guide:
  • Mahogany top with mahogany back, sides and neck, beautiful laser etched rosette, 15 frets, natural satin finish
  • Includes a 3 band preamp with volume, bass, mid and treble controls and a built in tuner
  • Rosewood bridge and fingerboard with dot inlays
  • Geared tuning keys, strung with Aquila Strings
  • Kit includes: Concert Ukulele and quick start guide
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Based on the rosette design, this is manufactured by the same company who makes the Idyllwild brand Ukulele sold by Monoprice.

They're decent starter ukes. Not great, not bad. The soprano is a very good deal if you were going to spend $35 anyways to qualify for the free shipping. the concert is a good price if you want a uke with a pickup, but I can't speak to the quality of the peamp.

I grabbed the tenor size last time these were on clearance, I think it was under 35. I have overall been very pleased. The sound is rich and full, and the Aquila strings play well. The only issue for me is that the uke came with some sharp frets that made playing uncomfortable. Make sure you check over those when you get your order.

Picked up a soprano for my son for Christmas as his cousin had one at Thanksgiving and he really liked it. Thank you OP!

My daughter just started taking ukulele in school a week ago. Was thinking about getting her one for Christmas. Is this good for beginners? she is only 11. I'm not sure what kind they use in her school. Thanks

This is a good price for a beginner Uke that is a real instrument not a toy. If you want it for serious playing you may want to upgrade to a Kala (their low-end is called Makala) or Lanakai model. For me this was the right deal though especially because I can plug into my computer and tablet to use with yousician so it will recognize my notes better than mic version.

Would either of these be okay for 5-7 yr old kids who want to learn how to play? Or too big?

Just missed it!

So is the Soprano acoustic/electric, or just acoustic? From the pictures it doesn't show it, but the description still says it...

Description is for concert uke, soprano is acoustic only.

Use the drop down box and choose Tenor to still snag a deal. Not sure the gig bag for the concert uke will fit it, though.

Fun fact: Uku in Hawaiian means bug. Kids in kindergarten always had lice and they called them ukus. Lele means to dance. So, ukulele means "dancing bug." Makes sense.

Edit: Tenor uke is now OOS, as well.
