E cig or vape setup help please

2,072 728 November 29, 2017 at 10:46 PM
I need a pro to help me find the best setup and deals to switch from smoking (getting bad) to vaping.

I saw on Apollo that reliant kit for $45 seems like a good price but then I'm looking at coils and phasers are $20 for 5 but if I get something like the Artic the coils are only $14. I know nothing about any of this except that I need to stop smoking.

I'll definitely gift someone who goes out of their way with Amazon or iTunes credit.

Thx in advance

I would suggest getting the Smok Alien 220w. You can get a whole kit on eBay with a Baby Beast tank, two coils, and batteries. All you have to do is add juice and you're ready to go. Make sure you get one that says authentic though.

Another good place is the e-cig classified subreddit. I bought my Ohmwrecker G2 there and it works perfectly.

For replacement coils, the cheapest way is obviously to make your own but I'm not at that level yet. I just buy replacements on eBay for about $7 for a 5 pack. It takes me a month to got through one coil so for the money it's not too bad. Building your own coils will cost you pennies though and give you better flavor, but I haven't learned how to do that yet.

The baby beast in my opinion is a juice hog, and coils are terrible. On the other hand I'm in love with the crown 3 tank, even the original crown tank is decent. Original crown would be cheaper. I use the crown3 tank on the alien mod. I also love the vapresso tarot mini kit. It's small, and doesn't go through juice as fast. Please let me know if I can help further. I've been vaping seven yrs.

I also forgot to mention with the alien mod, you would need to buy batteries and a charger.

I bought the whole Alien kit for $49 with batteries and a charger, but that was a special so I don't know if you can still find them that cheap. Good advice about the crown though! I haven't tried that one yet!

You defiantly need to try a crown 3, worth every Penney IMO, just wish would come in a kit for these beginners lol.

Great tips...I think you guys have me set on the Alien...two consecutive replys both use same mod, especially an early adopter who is using that after 7 years...I'll get that and look into the tanks.

Tank:
-When you say "kit for beginners" do you mean it's hard to use or just not usually included in starter kits?
-What coils do you use with the crown3 and do you need a tip or is that unnecessary?

-Is there a place I can read about omage...no clue about subohm vs higher resistance or even single vs. dual coil for that matter. Sounds like it will be a blast to get into though.

I think vaping will work well for me...I love smoking...F'N love it...chain smoke till my lungs are black while gaming in the garage. Nicotine isn't huge for me it's the act of smoking.

I also like the menthol burn with the inhale...I'm weird like that, love chugging cold carbonated soda, hot sauce (insane ghost pepper stuff) maybe have some subconscious sadomasochistic tendencies lol.

I appreciate your guys help. I'll need some more help with the juice after of order this stuff if you're up for it.

I was just saying the crown 3 doesn't come in a kit. You would have to buy the tank ( I prefer the .25 coils) and the mod separate. But buying the mod the alien for example, it would be almost the same price as buying the smok alien kit, which includes the beast tank. I have no idea about omage, sorry hun. But I also LOVE menthol minty taste. I add it to a lot of my fruity vapes. I usually don't vape nicotine, unless I'm have an anxiety crap day. Than I mix 3mg with zero.

Do your coils last a long time and where do you get them?
We're the same age, so I'm gonna follow your game plan with the crowned alien. So now I just need some quality vape.

Basically if you're new to vaping you don't really know what you need to buy, and I'm guessing that you just want something that works out of the box without having to fiddle and fumble with parts and pieces, yes? That's why I suggested the alien kit. This is what I bought a few months ago. It comes with everything you need (as long as you get one with batteries). Here is what comes in the kit: The baby beast tank (this holds your juice), the mod (this is the bulky box that holds your batteries and powers your tank and coil. Two coils. A charging cable. An extra glass tube for your tank, and some extra O rings for your tube. Everything you need except juice and batteries will come inside the Smok Alien box. You can either buy your batteries separately or if you buy from ebay, most sellers will have the option to include two batteries for an extra fee.

I definitely want to stress that it VERY important to make sure you buy one that says AUTHENTIC in the listing. If not, you might be getting a cheap chinese clone that could potentially explode.

Does that make it a little more clearer for you? It's very confusing at first and I'm still learning new things about vaping every day.

Yeah! Appreciate it. Surprised you said your coils last so long...some reviews I was looking over for other ones people were saying a week.
Where do you get yours, just ebay?

The length of time coils last has a lot to do with your liquid. Sweeter vapes will gunk them up faster. So will darker ones like tobacco and coffee flavors.

There is a huge variety of vapes and vaping styles out there. The kits mentioned are good, but there's a good chance you'll want to move on and try something else soon. I use several different devices because they have different types of vape for each.

Batteries are important because power is what produces the vapor. I use samsung, but lg and sony are good. Stick to 20a imr or inr and they must be authentic. You also want at least one spare so you don't have to wait while the battery is charging. A good charger is the nightcore brand and very reasonable.

There's a lot of clones around and for a successful first purchase, you might want to consider a USA dealer. Sweet Vapes is reliable with a wide range of products and info on their website.

Ideally, you might want to check out a couple of vape retailers. Depending on where you live, you can test out a variety and ask questions. My own preference is low wattage and "mouth to lung" since I've smoked for a long time and can't handle hot clouds of vapor. The kits above would choke me. I know other people have the opposite experience and weren't able to drop smoking without getting clouds and "direct to lung" style vapes. Whatever works.

Thousands of eliquid flavors which I think is even more important than your device. A great flavor is what made me WANT to vape over smoking. Even more interesting was that I loved flavors that didn't attract me to eat. And my taste changes all the time. Again, this is subjective. I know other people who find a flavor they like and never change or stick to a limited range of flavors. I think most get into mixing their own liquids once they get comfortable. There are a variety of subscription services that send liquids out monthly. Zamplebox is probably the largest and most economical. They are a great way to discover your flavor profile. You select what your interested in trying and can change it as time goes on.

Vaping can be very complex, like a hobby or made simple to replace smoking. Your choice. The first step is to find what you need to quit smoking, where ever that takes you. Reddit has an ecig sub and you might want to look at ECF. I can guarantee that you will have questions.

Some pretty good advice, but I have to disagree on two things. I would suggest going to a retailer to try it out, but I wouldn't buy a kit from a retail store. You'll end up paying 50%-100% more than online. I wouldn't suggest Zamplebox either. They sell some of the lowest quality juices out there. YouGotEJuice and E-cig City make pretty good juice at decent prices.
