I am using Kaspersky IS now, and will use until the license expires, but will not buy a new one. Yes I am cheap.
I do not know how much of a danger the "listening in" Kaspersky s/w was doing on behalf of russian foreign intelligence is for regular user, but I would not be surprised if they are searching for into other data than government secrets only, or are using my machine for a concerted effort.
I just don't want to take this chance that I am helping in something like this.

Money wise I think it is great deal however.

I read mixed responses from viewers, someone says Russian hacker, someone in other thread says it is good.
Who can share the best or worst experience about this antivirus? Would like to get one before it expires but I definitely can't bring in security risk (if this really is).

Overall, I liked the deal, great price an antivirus for 5 devices.

The Kaspersky software was implicated of, willingly or unwittingly, being a tool in stealing government secret files from the personal computer of some US government employee who broke the rules.
here is a read on this:

As far as intended functionality it is a very good software.

Thanks! I've read an article recently where it didn't detail much about this AV's involvement.

There is no reason to take the risk when so many great alternatives are available. They could force Kaspersky to do anything. Who can say they haven't?

By buying in to the NSA-driven slander against Kaspersky Lab, you are helping the worst molesters of the Bill of Rights in American history. And rivals to the East German Stasi.

Got 1, great deal. I don't buy the propaganda from the US government. Kaspersky did its job and caught the suspicious software from the dumbass employee who took his work home with him and put it on an unsecured computer.

Name a "great alternative" that is not "compromised" by US or British intelligence (that includes all companies in all NATO countries).

I have to laugh at Americans who think the NSA is protecting them considering recent years' revelations, especially considering who is inhabiting the White House these days.

Thanks for the deal, OP. My subscription is running out, and I'm in Canada now where deals like this on security software never occur.

Thanks for posting. Renewed my previous subscription that I have never had a problem with. Had a $15 store credit which brought it down to free.

"ERROR Sorry, the promo code EMCBBDR39 you've entered is invalid."

Code BTEBCBC27 will get it down below $30 but $15 with no rebate IS a slick deal.. Oh well...
