  • 11 miles of range on a fully charged battery and top speed of 10 mph (depending on rider's weight and riding habits)
  • UL-2272 certified-meets high standards of fire and electrical safety set by world-renown global safety science company underwriters laboratories

The Segway is a truly "lite" incarnation of the Segway miniPRO. It's scaled down - but not watered down. As a hands-free, self-balancing scooter, the miniLITE continues Segway's tradition of innovating personal transportation. It sports the same large pneumatic tires and top speed capability of the miniPRO, and is fully compatible with the Ninebot-Segway mobile app. It's ready to take on the urban terrain, indoors and outdoors.

This is designed for kids or petite adults. Tall people and/or those weighing over 175 lbs need not apply.

Besides weight, other factors that effect range is how much stop-n-go and/or slowing down/speed up. If each time you're getting up to speed you're accelerating as fast as possible, then it will effect range greatly. Another factor is terrain. Sidewalks with contraction joints will shorten range vs riding in a 'bike lane' of side of roadway. Obviously incline and hilly areas will tax the battery also. Grass, gravel? That will EAT the batteries. Under optimum conditions, and at your weight you should see 9-10 mile range.

I can't attest for the the miniLite, but my miniPro does a top speed of 10.5 mph before the internal 'braking' takes over. Trust me, avoid riding constantly at top speed... settle in at 7-8 mph and enjoy the ride. (2 year Segway miniPro owner/rider)

Most any bicyclist can travel with great safety on two wheels.

The newer electric skateboards all go twice as fast and twice the range. What am I missing? How does this even compete anymore?

Great deal. I've been kicking around getting this one or the pro. Size wise they're the same but the motor is 700w on this and 800w on the pro. The weight limit on this is 175lbs, but I'm 155lbs so that should be fine. I wish there were more reviews on it to see how realistic the 11 mike range and 10mph speed actually are.

Same situation for me. Almost tempted to bite but also saving for a OLED TV. Decisions, decisions.

I'm not familiar with those. Can you provide a link to something in the same price range?

Do they have air filled tires? Are they self balancing? Can you lock them via an app? Do they have customizable LEDs?

It's not really an apples to apples comparison. What is a comparable electric skateboard in this price range?

This is better indoors or for tight mobility spaces at low speed

Need to lose 20 LBS to reach 175, my ideal weight, but under 170 and I'm losing my strength. This would give me an incentive to lose a bit so I guess I'll bite. If I can't make the weight I'll sell it. Good find, thanks OP

I pre-ordered ecoreco r scooter. Unfortunately they have major delays - close to 12 months past the initia time frame.

That's nearly four times the price.
