Came up as $6.30 for me, which is still a sweet deal for VRP.

$5.35 is the subscribe and save price. $6.30 is one time purchase price.

I use these for my tires and they work well. It doesn't fade as fast like other brands.

How does this compare to 303 protectant? I assume it's shinier? Does it also protect from UV rays? Or is this more like armorall and will crack plastics over time?

This works very well, have used it a couple times on my wife's outside car trim after washing due to black fading. And now it stays black even after rain and stuff instead of the grayish. Use it inside as well on black or other colors. Very happy with it and holds up. Have not used it on tires.
