This is a cleanser. If you are not going to follow up with a wax/sealant I would strongly recommend

As that does not remove the existing wax. If you're not a fanboy of Chemical Guys and really want the best results go with Opti No Rinse. Been using it for the past year and its far superior to most quick wash solutions.

I was under the impression that this soap does not strips wax off

I have been using this car wash soap for many years. Use it both in a wash bucket as well as in my foam gun. Excellent results! I do wax my vehicle twice a year - no issues with wax being striped off. Nice cherry scent, too.

Would this work if you had seal/wax on?

Please don't get this.
I had applied the Wolfgang sealant to my car and then next weekend used this to wash it. It stripped off the sealant and I had to do it all over again.

I need to sell this on Craigslist or throw it away as I want something that just gives a car wash and not strip away existing sealant that's supposed to last for 6 months

False. " The pH-balnced formula will not strip wax coatings, will not leave water spots or streaks, and is safe to use even in direct sunlight" -direct from their website.

It says in multiple places on the product page that this doesn't remove wax...

great scent and has some great suds that develop. i have not personally experienced wax or sealants being stripped. YMMV.
